Ordinance No. 1,635ORDINANCE NO.1635 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS, AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BY THE AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 7, "BUILDINGS,"SECTION 7-4.1,PROVIDING FORTHE AMENDMENT OF SECTION 304.2 OF THE SOUTHERN STANDARD BUILDING CODE,1965 EDITION,BY THE ADDITION OF EXCEPTION NO.9,REPEALING OR DINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH;CONTAINING A SAVINGSCLAUSE; ANDPROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS: Section 1:That the Code ofOrdinances of the City of Baytown is hereby amended by the amendment of Chapter 7,"Buildings,"Section 7-4.1,to provide for an additional exception in Section 304.2 of the SouthernStandard Building Code,1965 Edition,which shall read as follows,to wit: Section 7-4.1.Same--Amendments. Section 304.2 of the Southern Standard Building Code,1965 Edition, is hereby amended by the addition of the following exception: 9.The City Council of the Cityof Baytown shall have the authority to grant further exceptions in the Second Fire District on a temporary basis,for a period not to exceed six months,for temporary buildings to be utilized during the construction or remodeling of permanent structures. Section 2:Repealing Clause:All ordinances or parts ofordinances incon sistent with the terms of this ordinance are hereby repealed;provided,however, that such repeal shall be only to the extent of such inconsistency and in all other respects this ordinance shall be cumulative of otherordinances regulating and governing the subject matter covered by this ordinance. Section 3:Savings Clause:If any provision,section,exception,sub section,paragraph,sentence,clause or phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to any person or set of circumstances,shall forany reason be held un constitutional,void or invalid,such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this ordinance or their application to other persons or sets of circumstances and to this end all provisions of this ordinance are de clared tobe severable. Section 4:Effective Date:This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
