AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BY THE AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 10,
"ELECTIONS,"BY THE ADDITION OF A NEW COUNCIL DISTRICT NO.5
IN ORDER THAT THE NEWLY ANNEXED TERRITORY IN THE VICINITY OF
CHAPARRAL DRIVE MAY BE INCLUDED IN THE PROPER COUNCIL DISTRICT;
ANDPROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS,Section 17(1)of the Charter of the City of Baytown provides
that the City Council shall redistrict the City into Council Precincts if the
growth of the City justifies;and
WHEREAS,it is necessary to include the newly annexed territory in the
vicinityof Chaparral Drive in a Council District;NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1:That the Code ofOrdinances of the Cityof Baytown is hereby
amended by the amendment of Chapter 10,"Elections,"by the additionof a new
Council District No.5 which shall read as follows,to wit:
District No.5
BEGINNING at point of intersection of centerline of East Texas Avenue with the
centerline of State Highway No.146;
THENCE,westerly with the centerline of Texas Avenue to centerline of
North Main Street;
THENCE,northerly with the centerline of North Main Street to a line
which is 200 feet north of and parallel to the north right of way
line of Massey Tompkins Road;
THENCE,easterlywith the line which is 200 feet north of and parallel
to the north right of way line of Massey Tompkins Road to its intersection
with the westerly boundary of Tract C-8,J.W.Singleton Survey,A-709;
THENCE,northerly with the western boundary of said tract to the northwest
corner of said tract;
THENCE,easterly with the northern boundary of Tract C-8,and continuing
with the northern boundary of Tract C-9,J.W.Singleton Survey,A-709,
to the northeast corner of Tract C-9;
THENCE,southerly with the eastern boundary of Tract C-9 to its intersection
with a line which is 200 feet north of and parallel to the north right of way
line of Massey Tompkins Road;
THENCE,easterly with the line which is 200 feet north of and parallel to the
north right of way line of Massey Tompkins Road to its intersection with the
west right of way line of Chaparral Drive;

THENCE,northward along the West right of way line of Chaparral Drive a
distance of 592.0 feet to the South line ofChaparral Village Subdivision,
Section Three;
THENCE,westerly,northerly,easterly,southerly,westerly,and southerly
with the boundaries of Chaparral Village Subdivision,Sections 1,2 and 3
to the intersection with a line 200 feet north of and parallel to Massey
Tompkins Road.
Section 2:Effective Date:This ordinance shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage and the City Clerk is herebydirected to publish the
caption of this ordinance at least once in the official newspaper of the City
of Baytown.
