AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,
DESIGNATING THE EAST SIDE OF GAILLARD STREET BETWEEN STERLING
AND DEFEE STREETS,EXCLUDING THE SPACES DESIGNATED AS METERED
SPACES,AS A THIRTY MINUTE PARKING ZONE;PRESCRIBING A MAXIMUM
PENALTY OF TOO HUNDRED AND NO/100 ($200.00)DOLLARS FOR THE VI
OLATION THEREOF;AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE
DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1:That pursuant to the provisionsof Section 18-122 of the
Code of Ordinances,the followingdescribed portions ofGaillard shall constitute
a thirty minute time limit parking zone:
The east side ofGaillard Street between Sterling and Defee Streets,
except for the parking spaces heretofore or hereafter designated
as metered spaces.
Section 2:Thatpursuant to the provisions of Section 18-122,the Chief
ofPolice is authorized and directed to cause the timelimit area to be maintained
and marked off as designated above.
Section 3:It shall be unlawful for a driver of a vehicle to disobey the
instructions of said markings or signs placed in accordance with the provisions
of this ordinance,unless at the time otherwise directed by a police officer.
Section 4:Any person violating the provisionsof this ordinance shall be
punished by a fine of not more than Two Hundred ($200.00)Dollars,and each vi
olation shall constitute a separate offense.
Section 5:This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10)days
after its passage by the City Council.The City Clerk is hereby directed to
give notice hereof by causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in
the official newspaperof the City of Baytown at leasttwice within ten (10)
days after the passage of this ordinance.
