ORDINANCE NO.1597
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,
CLOSING FELTON STREET TO INGRESS OR EGRESS AT THEK-MART PARKING
LOT;PRESCRIBING A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED AND NO/100
($200.00)DOLLARS FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF;AND PROVIDING FOR
THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1:That the City Council of the City of Baytown,Texas,upon
recommendation by the Council Traffic Committee does hereby authorize the
closing ofFelton Street to ingress or egress at the K-Mart Parking Lot.
Section 2:The Chief of Police is hereby authorized and directed to
cause the proper signs to be posted at the above described location.
Section 3:It shall be unlawful for a driver of a vehicle to disobey the
instructions of the signs placed in accordance with the provisions of thisor
dinance,unless at thetime otherwise directed by a police officer.
Section 4:Any person violating the provisionsof this ordinance shall
be punished by a fine of not more than Two Hundred ($200.00)Dollars,and each
violation shall constitute a separate offense.
Section 5:This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10)days
after its passage by the City Council.The City Clerk is hereby directed to
give noticehereof by causing the caption of this ordinance tobe published in
the official newspaper of the Cityof Baytown at least twice within ten (10)
days after the passage of this ordinance.
