AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE,TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC
HEARING ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY
BY THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS;AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY CLERKTO PUBLISH NOTICE OFSUCH PUBLIC HEARING
AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1:Onthe 9th day of May,1974,at 7:00 o'clock p.m.in the
City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Baytown,Texas,the City
Council will hold a public hearing giving all interested parties the right to
appear and be heard on the proposed annexation by the City of Baytown,Texas,of
the following described property,to-wit:
BEGINNING at a point on the existing city limit line,said point being on
the West right of way line of Chaparral Drive,a distance of Two Hundred
(200.0')feet North of Massey-Tompkins Road;
THENCE,North 11 degrees 05 minutes 28 seconds West a distance of
592.0 feet along the West line of Chaparral Drive to a point for
corner;
THENCE,South 80 degrees 32 minutes 02 secondsWest,a distanceof
412.5 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE,South 11 degrees 05 minutes 28 seconds East,a distance of
592.0 feet to a point for corner on the existingcity limit line;
THENCE,North 80 degrees 32 minutes 02 seconds East parallel to
Massey-Tompkins Road and along the existing city limit line,a
distance of 412.5 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
Section 2:The City Clerk of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized and
directed to cause notice of such public hearing tobe published once in a news
paper having general circulation in the city and in the above described territory
not more than twenty (20)days nor less than ten (10)days prior to the dateof
such public hearing,all in accordance with the Municipal Annexation Act (Chapter
160,Acts of the 58th Legislature,Regular Session,1963;compiled as 970a,Vernon's
Texas Civil Statutes,as amended).
Section 3:This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage by
the City Council of the City of Baytown.
