AN ORDINANCE OF THECITY COUNCIL OF THECITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,
ACCEPTING THE BID OF DON'S AUTOMOTIVE FOR THE TOW-AWAY SERVICE
FOR THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TO HAUL ABANDONED VEHICLES ANDDISABLED
CITY VEHICLES,AND AUTHORIZING THECITY ATTORNEY TO PREPARE AND
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR A TERM OF ONE YEAR
WITH DON'S AUTOMOTIVE FOR SAID SERVICE AND PROVIDING FORTHE EFFECTIVE
DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS,theCity Council of the City of Baytown,Texas,did authorize
the Purchasing Department forthe City of Baytown to advertise for bids for
tow-away service forthe Cityof Baytown,tohaul abandoned vehicles and disabled
cityvehicles tobe received March 7,1974;and
WHEREAS,notice to bidders as to the time and place,when and where the
contract would be letwas published pursuant to provisions of Section 74 of
the Charter of the City of Baytown;and
WHEREAS,all bids wereopened and publicly readat City Hall at 10:30
a.m.,Thursday,March 7,1974,as per published notice to bidder;NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1:That theCity Council of the City of Baytown,Texas,hereby
accepts the bid of Don's Automotive forthe Tow-Away Service forthe City of
Baytown,tohaul abandoned vehiclesand disabledcity vehicles,and authorizes
the City Attorney to prepare and the City Manager to execute a contract for
a term of one yearwith Don's Automotive for said service as provided in the
specifications of City of Baytown Bid No.743-23.
Section 2:This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage
by the City Council of the City ofBaytown,Texas.
