Ordinance No. 1,559ORDINANCE NO.1559 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,BY THE AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 2,"ADMINISTRATION,"ARTICLE II, BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS,DIVISION 7,BAYTOWN MUSEUM ADVISORY BOARD, BY THE ADDITIONOF A NEW SECTION 2-66.1,ENLARGEMENT OF MEMBERSHIP; AND BY AMENDING SECTION 2-67 THEREOF,DESIGNATING TERMS OF OFFICE FOR NEWLY APPOINTED MEMBERS;REPEALING ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HERE WITH;CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE;AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS: Section 1:That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Baytown,Texas,is hereby amended by amending Chapter 2,"Administration,"Article II,Boards and Commissions,Division 7,Baytown Museum Advisory Board,by the addition of a new Section 2-66.1,Enlargement of membership,which shall read as follows,to-wit: Section 2-66.1.Enlargement of membership. The membership of the Baytown Museum Advisory Board is hereby increased by five (5)members,so that its membership will consist of twelve (12) members.Such additional five (5)members shall be appointed as set forth herein. Section 2:That the Code of Ordinances of the City ofBaytown,Texas,is hereby amended by amending Chapter 2,"Administration,"Article II,Boards and Commissions,Division 7,Baytown Museum Advisory Board,by amending Section 2-67 1 thereof,which shall read as follows,to-wit: Section 2-67.Terms of office;qualifications;appointments of members. Of the original seven members,two (2)shall be appointed for three years,two (2)shall be appointed for two years,and three (3)shallbe appointed for one year.Thereafter,appointments to the Board shall be for three (3)year terms.A term of office shall commence on April 1st of the initial year of appointment.Of the five members appointed ef fective April 1,1974,one (1)shall be appointed for three years, two (2)shall be appointed for two years,two (2)shall be ap- pointed for one year.Thereafter,all appointments shall be for three year terms,such term to commence on April 1 of the initial year of appointment.Such members shall be appointed by the City Council. All members of the Board shall be qualified voters and residents of the City.The Director of Parks &Recreation shallbe an ex-officio member of the Board. Section 3:Repealing Clause:All ordinances or parts of ordinances incon sistent with the terms of this ordinances are hereby repealed;provided,however, that such repeal shall be only to the extent of such inconsistency and in all other respects this ordinance shall be cumulative of otherordinances regulating and governing the subject matter covered by this ordinance. Section 4:Savings Clause:If any provision,section,exception,sub section,paragraph,sentence,clause or phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to any person or set of circumstances,shall for any reason be held unconstitutional,void or invalid,such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this ordinance or their application to other persons or sets of circumstances and to this end all provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 5:Effective Date:This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
