Ordinance No. 1,557r ORDINANCE NO.1557 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS, NAMING A VENDOR UNDERTHE MANDATORY PETROLEUM PRODUCTS ALLOCATION PROGRAM OF THE FEDERAL ENERGY OFFICE TO SUPPLY THE CITY OF BAYTOWN WITH GASOLINE AND DIESEL FUEL FOR A ONE YEAR PERIOD AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Baytown,Texas,did authorize the Purchasing Department of the Cityof Baytown to advertise for bids for the pur chaseof gasoline and diesel fuel for a one-year period to be receivedFebruary 28,1974;and WHEREAS,notice to bidders as to the time and place,when and where the contract would be let was published pursuant to provisions of Section 74 of the Charter of the City of Baytown;and WHEREAS,all bids were opened and publicly read atCity Hall at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday,February 28,1974,as per published notice to bidders;and WHEREAS,"no bids"were received from Exxon Company,U.S.A.;Texaco,Inc.; Gulf Oil Company;Atlantic Richfield Company;and Mobil Oil Corporation;and WHEREAS,the Federal Energy Office of the Mandatory Petroleum Products Al location Program has named a vendor for the City of Baytown;and WHEREAS,Texaco,Inc.is the vendor;NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1:That the City Council of the City of Baytown,Texas,hereby designates Texaco,Inc.as its vendor forthe purchase of gasoline and diesel fuel for a period of one year under the guidelinesof the Mandatory Petroleum Products Allocation Program. Section 2:This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
