AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODEOF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN,TEXAS,BY THE AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 2,"ADMINISTRATION",
BY AMENDING ARTICLE V,INSURANCE ADVISORY COMMITTEE,SUBSECTION
2-108(b)THEREOF,SO AS TO REPEAL THE PROVISIONS OF SUCH SUBSECTION
AS PRESENTLY CONSTITUTED,AND TO SUBSTITUTE IN ITS PLACE NEW
PROVISIONS,AND BY DELETING SUBSECTION 2-106(D)SO ASTO REPEAL
THE PROVISIONS OF SUCH SUBSECTION AND THE SAME SHALLCEASE
TO HAVE FORCE AND EFFECT;REPEALING ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT
HEREWITH;CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE;AND PROVIDING FORTHE
EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITYOF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1:That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Baytown,Texas,
is hereby amended by amending Chapter 2,"Administration",by amending Article
V,Insurance Advisory Committee,by repealing Subsection 2-108(b)thereof,and
the same shall cease to have force and effectfrom and after the effective
dateof this ordinance.
Section 2:That the Code of Ordinances,herein,is hereby amended by
adding thereto a new Subsection 2-108(b)in Chapter 2,Article V,which shall
read as follows,to-wit:
Section 2-108.Management and procedure.
(b)The City Manager shall review all applications for membership
and approve all applications found to be in compliance with the terms
of this article,and shall furnish the chairman of the advisory committee
a copy of the approved list onor before the meeting scheduled in (a)
above each year.Any person making a false statement in his application
for membership will be disqualifiedfrom serving on the Insurance Ad
visory Committee and such applicant shall forego all membership rights
and notbe permitted participation in that year.
Section 3:That the Code of Ordinancesof the City of Baytown,Texas,is
hereby amended by amending Chapter 2,"Administration",by amending Article V,
Insurance Advisory Committee,by deleting Subsection 2-106(D)so as to repeal the
provisions of such subsection and the same shall cease to have force and effect
from and after the effective dateof this ordinance.
Section 4:Repealing Clause:All ordinances or parts of ordinances incon
sistent with the terms of this ordinances are hereby repealed;provided,however,
thatsuch repeal shall be only to the extent of such inconsistency and in all
other respects this ordinance shallbe cumulative of other ordinances regulating
and governing the subject matter covered bythis ordinance.

Section 5:Savings Clause:If any provision,section,exception,sub
section,paragraph,sentence,clause or phrase of this ordinance or the application
of same to any person or set of circumstances,shall for any reason be held un
constitutional,void or invalid,such invalidity shall not affect the validity
of the remaining provisions of this ordinance or their application to other persons
or sets of circumstances and to this end all provisionsof this ordinance are de
clared tobe severable.
Section 6:Effective Date:This ordinance shall take effect from and
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
