AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,
ACCEPTING THEBID OF R.T.BISHOP CONSTRUCTION COMPANY,INC.FOR
THE CONSTRUCTION OF WATER LINES IN STEWARTHEIGHTS ADDITION AND
AUTHORIZING THE CONTRACTING OF INDEBTEDNESS BY THE CITY FOR THE
SUM OF FORTY-FIVE THOUSAND FOUR AND 53/100 ($45,004.53)DOLLARS
WITH REGARD TO SUCH AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Baytown,Texas,did authorize Jack
Morton,City Engineer for the Cityof Baytown,to advertise for bids forthe
construction of water lines in Stewart Heights Addition tobe received November 27,
1973;and
WHEREAS,notice to bidders as to the time and place,when and where
the contract for said construction would be let was published pursuant to
provisionsof Vernon's Civil Statutes,Article 2368a;and
WHEREAS,all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 3:00 o'clock
p.m.,Tuesday,November 27,1973,as per published notice to bidders;NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THECITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1:That the City Council of the City of Baytown,Texas,hereby
accepts the bid of R.T.Bishop Construction Company,Inc.,according to the
plans and specifications set forth by the City Engineer on a construction timetable
of 40 work days for the sum of Forty-Five Thousand Four and 53/100 ($45,004.53)
Dollars,andthe Mayor and City Clerk of the Cityare hereby authorized and
directed to execute and attest to a contractwith R.T.Bishop Construction Company,
Inc.for the construction of said water lines,containing the plans,specifications,
and requirements of the City Engineer and appropriate bond and drawnprovisions
in accordance with the provisions of Vernon's Civil Statutes,Article 5160.
Section 2:That,the City Manager is hereby granted general authority to
approve any change order involving a decrease or an increase in costs of Five
Thousand and No/100 ($5,000.00)Dollars or less.
Section 3:This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage by
the City Council of theCity of Baytown.
