AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO PREPARE AND THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR A TERM OF ONE YEAR WITH
BAYTOWN AMBULANCE COMPANY,INC.FOR TRANSPORTATION OF THE ELDERLY
FOR LIMITED SPECIFIED PURPOSES,PURSUANT TO RULES AND REGULATIONS
PROMULGATED BY THE MAYOR'S COMMITTEE ON THE ELDERLY,AS APPROVED
BY THE CITY MANAGER AND FILED WITH THE CITY CLERK,FOR A SUM NOT
TOEXCEED TWELVE THOUSAND AND NO/100 ($12,000.00)AND PROVIDING
FORTHE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1:That the City Council of the Cityof Baytown hereby au
thorizes and directs the City Attorney to prepare andthe City Manager to execute
a contract for a term of one year with Baytown Ambulance Company,Inc.for
transportation of the elderly for limited specified purposes,pursuant to rules
and regulations promulgatedby the Mayor's Committee on the Elderly,as approved
by the City Manager and filed with the City Clerk,for a sum not to exceed Twelve
Thousand and No/100 ($12,000.00)Dollars on the following basis:
Reimbursement of actual expenses incurred by Baytown Ambulance Company,
Inc.on presentation of paidinvoices and payment of a sum certain for
fixed expenses.

Said contract to contain provisions requiring insurance,providing for the
inspection of the vehicle to be utilized,employment of a sufficent number
of qualified drivers,the designation of one particular vehicle to be utilized,
the audit of Baytown Ambulance Company,Inc.'s records,designating Baytown
Ambulance Company,Inc.as an Independent Contractor,providing for revocation
of saidcontract for failure to provide adequate service or change in ownership
from Baytov/n Ambulance Company,Inc.and providing for reduction of service
under the contract,if deemed advisable.
Section 2:This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage
by the City Council of the City of Baytown,Texas.
