AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,
PROVIDING FOR FOR THE EMOVAL OF UNWARRANTED TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT
VARIOUS INTERSECTIONS AND THE SUBSTITUTION OF STOP SIGNS;PRE
SCRIBING A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED AND NO/100 ($200.00)
DOLLARS FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF;AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUB
LICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BEIT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THECITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1:That the City Council of the City of Baytown,Texas,upon recom
mendation by the Council Traffic Committee does hereby authorize the removal of
traffic signals at the following intersections:
Harbor and Market
East Texas and Second
Ashbel and Defee
and the substitution of stop signs in the following manner:
Harbor at Market
Second at East Texas
Ashbelat Defee
Section 2:The Chief of Police is hereby authorized and directed to cause
the removal of the above referred to traffic signals andthe posting of stop signs
as indicated above.
Section 3:Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be
punished by a fine of not more than Two Hundred ($200.00)Dollars,and each vi
olation shall constitute a separate offense.
Section 4:Effective Date:This ordinance shall take effect from and after
ten (10)days after its passage bythe City Council.The City Clerk is hereby
directed to give notice hereof by causing the caption of this ordinance tobe
published in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice within
ten (10)days after its passage.
