Ordinance No. 1,476ORDINANCE NO.1476 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE REMOVAL OFTHESTOP SIGN ATTHE INTERSECTION OF SOUTH MAIN EXTENSIONAND SOUTH MAIN STREET AND SUBSTITUTING IN ITS PLACEA YIELD SIGN;PRESCRIBING A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED ($200.00)DOLLARS FOR EACH VIOLATION;AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1:That the City Council of the City of Baytown,Texas,upon reconmendation by the Council Traffic Committee does hereby authorize the removal of the stop sign at the intersection of South Main Extension and South Main Street andthe substitution of a yield sign to allow a smoothermovement for north bound traffic onto South Main Street. Section 2:The Chief of Police is hereby authorized and directed to cause the removal of the stop sign and to have the proper sign posted atthe above referred to intersection. Section 3:Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be punishedby a fine of not more than Two Hundred ($200.00)Dollars,and each vio lation shall constitute a separate offense. Section 4:Effective Date:This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10)days after its passage by the City Council.The CityClerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by causing the caption of this ordinance tobe published in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown at leasttwice within ten (10)days after its passage.
