AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE ENSUING FISCALYEAR,BEGINNING
OCTOBER 1,1973,AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30,1974,IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
CHARTER AND ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN;AND PROVIDING FOR THE
PUBLICATION OF THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS,the City Manager of the City of Baytown has submitted to the City
Council a budget estimate of the revenues of said City and the expenses of con
ducting the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year,beginning October 1,1973,
and ending September 30,1974,and which said estimate has been compiled from de
tailed information obtained from the several departments,divisions,and offices
of the City containing all information as required by the Charter of the Cityof
Baytown;and
WHEREAS,the City Council has received saidCity Manager's estimate andheld
a public hearingthereon so provided by Section Forty-Four (44)of the Charter;and
WHEREAS,after a full and final consideration of the public hearing it is
the opinion of the Council that the budget as filed should be approved and adopted;
NOW THEREFORE,
BEIT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1:That the budget estimate of the revenues of the City of Baytown
and the expenses of conducting the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year,
beginning October 1,1973,and ending September 30,1974,as submitted to the City
Council by the City Manager of said City be,andthe same is in all things,adopted
and approved as the budget estimate of all the current expenses as well as the fixed
charges against said City for the fiscal year beginning the1stday of October,1973,
and ending September 30,1974.
Section 2:That the sum of FOUR MILLION EIGHT HUNDRED NINETY-NINE THOUSAND
EIGHT HUNDRED THIRTY-EIGHT AND NO/100 ($4,899,838.00)Dollars is hereby appropriated
out of the General Fund for the payment of Operating Expenses and Capital Outlay
of the City Government as hereinafter itemized,to-wit:

Public Safety 2,066,573.00
Public Works 1,190,380.00
Public Health 80,587.00
Parks &Recreation 383,243.00
Miscellaneous 134,321.00
TOTAL $4,899,838.00
Section 3:That the sum of ONE MILLION THREE HUNDRED THIRTEEN THOUSAND FOUR
HUNDRED THIRTY-FOURAND NO/100 ($1,313,434.00)Dollars is hereby appropriated out
ofthe Waterworks and SanitarySewer Fund forthe Operating Expenses and Capital
Outlay of the municipality owned Waterworks and Sanitary Sewage System as herein
after itemized,to-wit:
General Overhead $330,605.00
Water Production 178,801.00
Water Distribution 336,054.00
Sewage Collection 174,113.00
Sewage Treatment 251,491.00
Infiltration Abatement 42,370.00
TOTAL $1,313,434.00
Section 4:That the sum of ONE MILLION ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY-THREE THOUSAND
TWO HUNDRED TWENTY-EIGHTAND NO/100 ($1,183,228.00)Dollars is hereby appropriated
out of the General Fund Debt Service for the purpose of paying the accruinginterest
and redeeming theSerial Bonds as they mature onthe General Fund Debt Service Bonds
as hereinafter itemized,to-wit:
Certificates of Obligation $40,000.00
Bond Payment 485,000.00
InterestPayments 656,228.00
Fiscal Agent Fees 2,000.00
TOTAL $1,183,228.00
Section 5:That the sum of TWO HUNDRED FIFTY-TWO THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED NINETY-
TWO AND NO/100 ($252,192.00)Dollars is hereby appropriated out of the Waterworks
and Sanitary Sewer Fund Debt Service for the purpose of paying the accruing interest
and redeeming theSerial Bonds as they mature on the Waterworks and Sanitary Sewer
Fund Debt Service Bonds as hereinafter itemized,to-wit:
Bond Payment $129,000.00
InterestPayments 122,692.00
Fiscal Agent Fees 500.00
TOTAL $252,192.00

Section 6:The City Manager is hereby authorized to transfer any unencumbered
appropriation balance or portion thereof between general classifications of expendi
tures within an office,department or agency,in accordance with Section Sixty-eight
(68)of the CityCharter.
Section 7:This ordinance shall be and remain infull forceand effect from
and after its passage and approval of the City Council and it shall be published
onceeach week for two (2)consecutive weeks in the official newspaper of the City
of Baytown.
READ,ADOPTED and APPROVED by the affirmative voteof a majority of the City
Council of the City of Baytown at the regular meeting held at the City Hall in the
City of Baytown on the 13thday of September,1973.
