Ordinance No. 1,458ORDINANCE NO.1458 AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATE AND TAX LEVY FOR THE CITYOF BAYTOWN,TEXAS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDINGSEPTEMBER 30,1974,UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY IN SAID CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OFTHE STATE OF TEXAS AND THE CHARTER PROVISIONS AND ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY;AND RE- REALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. BEIT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1:There shall be and is hereby levied and shall be assessed and collected for the year ending September 30,1974,an ad valorem tax of ONEand 35/100 ($1.35)DOLLARS for each ONE HUNDRED and NO/100 ($100.00)DOLLARS of as sessed value of property located within the City limitsof the City of Baytown on January 1,1973,made taxable by law,which said taxes,when collected,shall be apportioned among funds and departments of City Government of the Cityof Baytown andfor the purposes hereinafter set forth as follows: General Fund Operations $1,016 Debt Service for payment of bonded indebtedness 0.334 TOTAL $1,350 Section 2:The ad valorem taxrate of Oneand 35/100 ($1.35)DOLLARS as set forth in Section 1,is hereby levied and shall be assessed and collected on only Fifty (50%)percent of each ONE HUNDRED and NO/100 ($100.00)DOLLARS worth of property located within the City limits of the City of Baytown on January 1, 1973,as valued by the Equalization Board of the City of Baytown and made taxable by law. Section 3:The Tax Assessor and Collector of the City of Baytown is hereby directed to assess,extend and enter upon the Tax Rolls of the City of Baytown, Texas,forthe current year the amounts and rates herein levied,and to keep a current account of the same.All collection of such taxes,as well as collection of taxes owned for prior years,to include penalty and interest thereon,shall be deposited in the official depository of the City of Baytown tobe distributed be tween the General Fund and the Debt Service on a basis determined by the percentage thateach of the dollar figures in Section 1 above bear to the above stated tax rate. Section 4:All ordinances are parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. READ,ADOPTED and APPROVED by the affirmative vote of a majority of the City Council of the City of Baytown at its regular meeting held at the City Hall in the City of Baytown on the 13th day of September,1973.
