AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OFTHE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,
ACCEPTING THE BID OF A.C.CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR THECON
STRUCTION OF WATER LINES TO THE NEWLY ANNEXED AREA IN THE VICINITY
OF STERLING HIGH SCHOOL AND AUTHORIZING THE CONTRACTING OF IN
DEBTEDNESS BY THE CITY FOR THE SUM OF NINETY-FOUR THOUSAND FIVE
HUNDRED NINETY-FIVE AND NO/100 ($94,595.00)DOLLARS WITH REGARD
TO SUCH AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Baytown,Texas,did authorize
Busch,Hutchison &Associates,Inc.,Consulting Engineers to the City of
Baytown,to advertise for bids for the construction of water lines to the
newly annexed area in the vicinity of Sterling High School tobe received
July 6,1973;and
WHEREAS,notice to bidders as to the time and place,when and where
the constract for said construction would be letwas published pursuant
to provisions of Vernon's Civil Statutes,Article 2368a;and
WHEREAS,all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 10:00
o'clock a.m.,Friday,July 6,1973,as per published notice to bidders;
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1:That the City Council of the City of Baytown,Texas,hereby
accepts the bid of A.C.Construction Company,according to the plans and
specifications set forth by the Consulting Engineers on a construction timetable
of 90 working days forthesum of Ninety-Four Thousand Five Hundred Ninety-Five
and No/100 ($94,595.00)Dollars,and the Mayor and City Clerk of the City
are hereby authorized and directed to execute and attest to a contract with
A.C.Construction Company for the construction of said water lines,containing
the plans,specifications,and requirements of the Consulting Engineers
and appropriate bond and drawnprovisions in accordance with the provisions
of Vernon's Civil Statutes,Article 5160.
INTRODUCED,READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council
on the 12th day of July ,1973.
