AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,ACCEPTING
THEBID OF BROWN &ROOT,INC.FOR THE CONSTRUCTION PHASE II,1973 STREET
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING THE CONTRACTING OF INDEBTEDNESS BY
THE CITY FOR THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY-THREE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED
NINETY-THREE AND 45/100 ($183,993.45)DOLLARS WITH REGARD TO SUCH AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City ofBaytown,Texas,did authorize Jack
Morton,City Engineer for the City of Baytown,to advertise for bids forthe
construction of Phase II,1973 Street Improvement Program to be received May 22,
1973;and
WHEREAS,notice to bidders as to the time and place,when and where the
constract for said construction would be let was published pursuant to provisions
of Vernon's Civil Statutes,Article 2368a;and
WHEREAS,all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 3:00 o'clock
p.m.,Tuesday,May 22,1973,as per published notice to bidders;NOW THEREFORE,
BEIT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1:That the City Council of the City ofBaytown,Texas,hereby
accepts the bid of Brown &Root,Inc.,according to the plans and specifications
set forth by the City Engineer on a construction timetable of 120 working days
forthe sum of One Hundred Eighty-Three Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety-Three and
a*45/100 ($183,993.45)Dollars,and the Mayor and City Clerk of the City are hereby
authorized and directed to execute and attest to a contract with Brown &Root,Inc.
for the construction of said Phase II,1973 Street Improvement Program which includes
the following streets:Adams,Bolster,Dallas,Dwinnell,Graham,Holly Drive,West
Humble,South Jones,Katherine,Kern,Michigan,Stella,Utah,and South Whiting;
containing the plans,specifications,and requirements of the City Engineer and
appropriate bond and drawnprovisions in accordance with the provisions of Vernon's
Civil Statutes,Article 5160.
