AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
APPROVING AND ACCEPTING LEGAL SERVICES RENDERED BY FULBRIGHT,
CROOKER & JAWORSKI, AND RECEIVING AND ACCEPTING THE STATEMENTS
FOR SAID LEGAL SERVICES; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING PAYMENT OF
SAID LEGAL SERVICES, AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the law firm of Fulbright, Crooker & Jaworski, by Ordinance No. 1322
adopted December 21, 1972, was retained to represent the City of Baytown in connection
with drafting and obtaining passage of legislation creating a Baytown area water
authority, the organization and qualification of a Board of Directors thereof, and
with negotiations and legal proceedings necessary to obtain a supply of surface
water for a Baytown area water authority, consistent with the terms, rates and
fees contained in the proposal presented to Council by letter dated December 19,
1972; and
WHEREAS, the firm of Fulbright, Crooker & Jaworski has presented the City
of Baytown with with two statements, one dated March 13, 1973 in the amount of
Five Thousand Four Hundred Seventy -Five and 34/100 ($5,475.34) Dollars, and one
dated April 3, 1973 in the amount of One Thousand Three Hundred and 44/100 ($1,033.44)
Dollars for professional services rendered through March 31, 1973.
WHEREAS, the firm of Fulbright, Crooker & Jaworski has rendered these
services in connection with the creation of the Baytown Area Water Authority in
accordance with their proposal of December 19, 1973; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council hereby accepts and approves the above
referred to statements for legal services rendered by the law firm of Fulbright,
Crooker & Jaworski for services rendered in the creation of the Baytown Area Water
Authority.
Section 2: That the payment of legal fees in the amount of Six Thousand
Four Hundred Seventy -Eight and 78/100 ($6,478.78) Dollars is hereby authorized
and directed.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage
by the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by an affirmative vote of the City Council
of the City of Baytown, this 11th day of April _ _, 1973.
