AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, ACCEPTING
THE BID OF WHITELAK, INC., OF HOUSTON, TEXAS, FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE
MIDDLE GOOSE CREEK INTERCEPTOR SEWER, JOB NO. 44A, CONTRACT NO. 4 AND
AUTHORIZING THE CONTRACTING OF INDETEDNESS BY THE CITY FOR THE SUM OF
FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY -SEVEN THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FIFTY AND 25/100
($527,250.25) DOLLARS WITH REGARD TO SUCH ACCEPTANCE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, did authorize
Langford Engineering Company, Consulting Engineers to the City of Baytown, to
advertise for bids for the construction of the Middle Goose Creek Interceptor
Sewer, Job No. 44A, Contract No. 4 to be received March 13, 1973; and
WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place, when and where the
contract for said construction would be let was published pursuant to provisions
of Vernon's Civil Statutes, Article 2368a; and
WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 10:00
o'clock a.m., Tuesday, March 13, 1973, as per published notice to bidders; NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby
accepts the bid of Whitelak, Inc., of Houston, Texas, for the construction of
the Middle Goose Creek Interceptor Sewer, Job No. 44A, Contract No. 4 according
to the plans and specifications set forth by the Consulting Engineers on a
construction timetable of 150 calendar days for the sum of Five Hundred Twenty -
Seven Thousand Two Hundred Fifty and 25/100 ($527,250.25) Dollars and the Mayor
and City Clerk of the City are hereby authorized and directed to execute and
attest to a contract with Whitelak, Inc., of Houston, Texas, for the construction
of the Middle Goose Creek Interceptor Sewer, containing the plans, specifications,
and requirements of the Consulting Engineers and appropriate bond and drawn pro-
visions in accordance with the provisions of Vernon's Civil Statutes, Article 5160.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council of
the City of Baytown on the 22nd day of March , 1973.
