Ordinance No. 1,281ORDINANCE NO. 1281 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE BID OF WARD LAFRANCE FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE 1,000 GPM PUMPER /TANKER (750 GAL.) AND AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE SUM OF FORTY -SIX THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED SEVENTY -TWO AND NO/100 ($46,772.00) DOLLARS WITH REGARD TO SUCH AGREEMENT. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, did authorize the Purchasing Department for the City of Baytown to advertise for bids for the purchase of one 1,000 GPM Pumper /Tanker (750 Gal.) to be received September 8, 1972; and WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place, when and where the contract would be let was published pursuant to provisions of Section 74 of the Charter of the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 10:15 a.m., Friday, September 8, 1972, as per the published notice to bidders; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby accepts the bid of Ward La France for the purchase of one 1,000 GPM Pumper /Tanker (750 Gal.) according to the plans and specifications set forth by the Purchasing Department on a delivery date of 270 calendar days for the sum of Forty -Six Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy -Two and No /100 ($46,772.00) Dollars in this regard. The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, convened in Regular Meeting on the 28th day of September, 1972, in the City Hall, within said City, and the ro.11 was called of the duly constituted members and officers of said City CounciL, to -wit: Glen walker Mayor Charles Pool Councilman Charlie Oe Walker Councilman Tom Gentry Councilman Allen Cannon Councilman Jody Lander Councilman Jim McWilliams Councilman Edna Oliver City Clerk and all of said persons were present except the following absentees: S thus constituting a quorum. Whereupon, among other business, the following was transacted at said meeting: a written ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ISSUANCE OF $100,000 CITY OF BAYTOWN POLICE BUILDING CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION; LEVYING A TAX FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE PRINCIPAL, THEREOF AND INTEREST THEREON; APPROVING CONTRACT AWARDS; AND CONTAINING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT was duly introduced for the consideration of said City Council and read in full. After due discussion, it was then duly moved and seconded that said ordinance be adopted; and said motion carried by the following vote: AYES: All members of said City Council shown present above voted "Aye," NOES: None, 2. That a true, full, and correct copy of the aforesaid ordinance adopted at the meeting described in the above and foregoing paragraph is attached to and follows this certificate; Page 1 of 2 pages that said ordinance has been duly recorded in said City Council's minutes of said meeting; that the persons named in the above and foregoing paragraph are the duly chosen, qualified, and acting officers and members of said City Council as indicated therein; that each of the officers and members of said City Council was duly and sufficiently notified officially and personally, in advance, of the time, place, and purpose of the aforesaid meeting, and.that said ordinance would be introduced and considered for adoption at said meeting; that said meeting was open to the public as required by law; and that public notice of the time, place, and subject of said meeting was given as required by Article 6252 -17, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, as amended 3. The Mayor of said City has approved, and hereby approves, the aforesaid ordinance; the Mayor and the City Clerk of said City have duly signed said ordinance; and the Mayor and City Clerk of said City hereby declare that their signing of this certificate shall also constitute the signing of the attached and following copy of said ordinance for all purposes.
