Ordinance No. 1,261ORDINANCE NO. 1261 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE BID OF TIDAL CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF EX- PANSION FACILITIES TO WEST MAIN SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT AS PART OF THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM, AND AUTHORIZING THE CONTRACTING OF INDEBTEDNESS BY THE CITY CONTINGENT UPON RECEIPT BY THE CITY OF CERTAIN DOCUMENTS FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, FOR THE SUM OF ONE MILLION TWO HUNDRED SEVENTY -THREE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY H REGARD TO SUCH AGREEMENT. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, did authorize Ivan Langford, Consulting Engineer for the City of Baytown, to advertise for bids for the construction of expansion facilities to West Main Sewage Treatment Plant to be received July 31, 1972; and WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place, when and where the contract for said construction would be let was published pursuant to pro- visions of Vernon's Civil Statutes Article 2368a; and WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 4:00 o'clock p.m., Monday, July 31, 1972, as per the published notice to bidders. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby accepts the bid of Tidal Construction C for the construction of expansion facilities to West Main Sewage Treatment Plant according to the plans and specifications set forth by the Consulting Engineer on a construction timetable at 330 days for the sum of One Million Two Hundred Seventy -Three Thousand Three Hundred Eighty and No /100 ($1,273,380.00) Dollars, and the Mayor and City Clerk of the City are hereby authorized and di- rected to execute and attest to a contract with Tidal Construction Company T for the construction of said expansion to West Main Sewage Treatment Plant containing the plans, specifications and re- quirements of the Consulting Engineer and appropriate bond and drawn provisions in accordance with the provisions of Vernon's Civil Statutes, Article 5160. INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council of the City of Baytown, this lst day of August , 1972.
