AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
ACCEPTING THE BID OF BENNIE RIGGS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE
CONCRETE WORK FOR THE ANIMAL SHELTER AND AUTHORIZING THE CON-
TRACTING OF INDEBTEDNESS BY THE CITY FOR THE SUM OF ONE THOUSAND
EIGHT HUNDRED NINETY AND NO /100 ($1,890.00) DOLLARS WITH REGARD
TO SUCH AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, did authorize
A. J. Busch, Consulting Engineer for the City of Baytown, to advertise for bids
for the construction of the concrete work for the animal shelter to be received
May 10, 1972; and
WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place, when and where the
contract for said construction would be let was published pursuant to provisions
of Vernon's Civil Statutes, Article 2368a; and
WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 10:00
o'clock a.m., Wednesday, May 10, 1972, as per the published notice to bidders.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby
accepts the bid of Bennie Riggs for the construction of the concrete work for the
animal shelter according to the plans and specifications set forth by the Con-
sulting Engineer for the sum of One Thousand Eight Hundred Ninety and No /100
($1,890.00) Dollars, and the Mayor and City Clerk of the City are hereby authorized
and directed to execute and attest to a contract with Bennie Riggs for the con-
struction of said concrete work for the animal shelter, containing the plans,
specifications and requirements of the Consulting Engineer and appropriate bond
and drawn provisions in accordance with the provisions of Vernon's Civil Statutes,
Article 5160 or lump sum payment provisions in accordance with the provisions of
Vernon's Civil Statutes, Article 2368a.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council
on this 1st day of August, 1972.
