Ordinance No. 1,226ORDINANCE NO. 1226 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE BID OF VAN CLEVE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A MUNICIPAL FACILITY FOR BAYTOWN POLICE BUILDING), JOB NO. 71 -511, AS PART OF THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM, AND AUTHORIZING THE CONTRACTING OF INDEBTEDNESS BY THE CITY FOR THE SUM OF FOUR H NDRED NINETY -NINE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED SEVENTY -FIVE AND N01100 DOLLARS WITH REGARD TO SUCH AGREE- MENT. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, did authorize A. J. Busch, Consulting Engineer for the City of Baytown, to advertise for bids for the construction of a municipal facility for Baytown (Police Building) to be received April 26, 1972; and WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place, when and where the contract for said construction would be let was published pursuant to provisions of Vernon's Civil Statutes Article 2368a; and WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 1:00 o'clock p.m., Wednesday, April 26, 1972, as per the published notice to bidders. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby accepts the bid of Van Cleve Construction Company for the construction of a municipal facility for Baytown (Police Building), Job No. 71 -511, according to the plans and specifications set forth by the City Engineer on a construction timetable at 240 days for the sum of Four Hundred_Ninety -Nine Seven Hundred Seventy -Five and No /100 .($499.,775.00). __Dollars, and the Mayor and City Clerk of the City are hereby authorized to execute and attest to a contract with Van Cleve Construction Company for the construction of said municipal facility (Police Building) containing the plans, specifications and requirements of the City Engineer and appropriate bond and drawn provisions in accordance with the provisions of Vernon's Civil Statutes Article 5160. INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council on the 23rd day of May 1972. C.
