Ordinance No. 1,222ORDINANCE NO. 1222 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE BID OF JAMES J. STIPE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A FOUNTAIN, FOUNDATION SLAB FOR PARKS MAINTENANCE BUILDING, AND VARIOUS SIDEWALKS AS PART OF THE CA- PITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM, AND AUTHORIZING THE CONTRACTING OF INDEBTEDNESS BY THE CITY FOR THE SUM OF SIXTEEN THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED SEVENTEEN AND 92/100 16.717.92) WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, did authorize A. J. Busch, Consulting Engineer for the City of Baytown, to advertise for bids for the construction of a fountain, foundation slab for parks maintenance building, and various sidewalks to be received May 10, 1972; and WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place, when and where the contract for said construction would be let was published pursuant to provi- sions of Vernon's Civil Statutes Article 2368a; and WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 10 :00 o'clock a.m., Wednesday, May 10, 1972, as per the published notice to bidders. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby accepts the bid of James J. Stipe for the construction of a fountain, foundation slab for parks maintenance building and various side- walks according to the plans and specifications set forth by the City Engineer on a construction timetable at 50 days for the sum of Sixteen Thousand Seven Hundred Seventeen and 92/100 Dollars, and the Mayor and City Clerk of the City are hereby authorized to execute and attest to a contract with James J. Stipe for the construction of said fountain, foundation slab for parks maintenance building, and various sidewalks containing the plans, specifications and requirements of the City Engineer and appropriate bond and drawn provisions in accordance with the provisions of Vernon's Civil Statutes Article 5160.
