Ordinance No. 1,213ORDINANCE NO. 1213 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF SIX THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED FORTY -FOUR AND 03/100 ($6,144.03) DOLLARS TO CLINTON OWSLEY AND ASSOCIATES, PUBLIC UTILITY RATE AND SERVICE CONSULTANTS, FOR CONSULTING SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH A REQUEST BY GENERAL TELEPHONE COMPANY OF THE SOUTHWEST TO INCREASE LOCAL RATES AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. WHEREAS, by motion duly passed by the City Council of the City of Baytown in its regular meeting November 2, 1971, the Council authorized the administration to retain a rate expert in conjunction with the rate increase requested by General Telephone Company of the Southwest; and WHEREAS, at this meeting three (3) proposals were reviewed for Council consideration; and WHEREAS, the Council accepted the proposal of Clinton Owsley and Associates, Public Utility and Service Constultants, based on experience and qualifications as rate consultants; and WHEREAS, Clinton Owsley and Associates have made investigations of the records of General Telephone Company of the Southwest and have presented the findings of said investigation to the City Council of the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, Clinton Owlsey and Associates have submitted a statement for services rendered after completion of the rate hearings and the passage of a franchise and rate ordinance, NOVI THEREFORE; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1: That the City Council hereby approves and accepts said statement and authorizes payment of such to the said, Clinton Owsley and Associates, in the amount of Six Thousand One Hundred Forty -Four and 03/100 ($6,144.03) Dollars. Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas.
