AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
ACCEPTING THE BID OF WHITELAK INCORPORATED
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE ARTERIAL WATER MAIN PROJECT,
JOB NO. 71 -514, CONTRACT NO. 3, AS PART OF THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS
PROGRAM, AND AUTHORIZING THE CONTRACTING OF INDEBTEDNESS
BY THE CITY FOR THE SUM OF FOUR HUNDRED EIGHT THOUSAND THREE
HUNDRED TWENTY-EIGHT AND NO /100 0 LARS WITH REGARD TO SUCH
AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, did authorize
A. J. Busch, Consulting Engineer for the City of Baytown, to advertise for bids
for the. construction of watermain extensions to be received March 15, 1972; and
WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place, when and where the
contract for said construction would be let was published pursuant to provisions
of Vernon's Civil Statutes Article 2368a; and
WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 10:00
o'clock a.m., Wednesday, March 15, 1972, as per the published notice to bidders.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby
accepts the bid of
WHITELAK INCORPORATED for
the construction of the Arterial Water Main Project, Job No. 71 -514, for
the construction of arterial water mains and appurtenances thereto in
the following streets: West Main, Bowie, Amelia, Bolster, Pelly, Pruett,
Neal, Dailey, Massey, Denby, American, Jones, Gulf, McKinney, Alexander,
Roseland, Texas, Bayou, Kilgore, East Fayle, Narcille, Adams, South Second,
East Republic, in easements through Gulf Hill, Ashbel Smith Land Company
property, and between Kilgore Road and East Fayle; installation of fire
hydrants on both new and existing mains, according to the plans and specifications
set forth by the City Engineer on a construction timetable at 180 days
for the sum of Four Hundred Eight Thousand Three Hundred Twenty -Eight and
no 100 408 328 Dollars, and the Mayor and City Clerk of the City are
hereby authorized and directed to execute and attest to a contract with
WHITELAK INCORPORATED for the construction
of said Arterial Water Main Project containing the plans, specifications
and requirements of the City Engineer and appropriate bond and drawn provisions
in accordance with the provisions of Vernon's Civil Statutes Article 5160.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City
Council on the 21st day of March , 1972.
