Ordinance No. 1,157ORDINANCE NO. 1157 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, DESIGNATING D. R. VOELKEL AS SPECIAL CONSULTANT FOR THE CITY OF BAYTOWN; AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF FOUR THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED AND NO /100 ($4,100.00) DOLLARS IN THIS REGARD AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the services of D. R. Voelkel as City Manager of the City of Baytown, Texas, were terminated on the 17th day of January, 1972, upon acceptance of his resignation by the City Council of the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, during his employment as City Manager many and various pro- grams and projects were initiated, and the City of Baytown is in need of technical advise concerning such programs and projects; and WHEREAS, even though proper records and files were kept on these programs and projects much of the information needed to assure continuous and uninterrupted operation is not contained in the files but is a result of special knowledge; and WHEREAS, the said, D. R. Voelkel, is possessed of such special knowledge of said programs and projects; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown is willing to com- pensate the said, D. R. Voelkel, for the time and effort which will be necessary to impart this special knowledge to others within the City Administration and deems that if would be in the best interest of the City of Baytown to retain the said, D. R. Voelkel, as a special consultant for this purpose; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That D. R. Voelkel is hereby appointed as special consultant for the City of Baytown to effect orderly transition from the administration of the said, D. R. Voelkel, and is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to that end. Section 2: That the payment of special consultant's fees in the amount of FOUR THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED AND NO /100 ($4,100.00) Dollars to the said, D. R. Voelkel is hereby authorized and directed. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas.
