Ordinance No. 1,156ORDINANCE NO. 1156 AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1: On the lst day of February, 1972, at 7 :00 o'clock p.m. in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Baytown, Texas, the City Council will hold a public hearing giving all interested parties the right to appear and be heard on the proposed annexation by the City of Baytown, Texas, of the following described property, to -wit: BEING a 3.64 acre tract of land out of the J. W. Singleton Survey A -709 In Harris County, Texas and being northeast of the City of Baytown, Harris County, Texas, and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: COMMENCING at the intersection of the north right -of -way line of Massey - Tompkins Road and the west right -of -way line of Barkaloo Road; THENCE, south 80 °30' west along the north right -of -way line of Massey- Tompkins Road a distance of 1609.5 feet to a point in the north right -of -way line Massey - Tompkins Road; THENCE, north 11 008' west a distance of 200.00 feet to a point in the existing City of Baytown city limit line said point being the POINT OF BEGINNING of the herein described tract of land; THENCE, continuing north 11 °08' west a distance of 524.0 feet to a point; THENCE, north 80 °30' east a distance of 302.50 feet to a point; THENCE, south 11 °08' east a distance of 524.0 feet to a point in the existing City of Baytown city limit line; THENCE, south 80 030' west along the existing City of Baytown city limit line, a distance of 302.50 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. Section 2: The City Clerk of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized and directed to cause notice of such public hearing to be published once in a newspaper having general circulation in the city and in the above described territory not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of such public hearing, all in accordance with the Municipal Annexation Act (Chapter 160, Acts of the 58th Legislature, Regular Session, 1963; compiled as 970a, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, as amended). Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
