Ordinance No. 1,155ORDINANCE NO. 1155 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, BY THE AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 18, MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, BY AMENDING SECTION 18 -153.1 THEREOF, SO AS TO REPEAL THE PROVI- SIONS OF SUCH SECTION AS PRESENTLY CONSTITUTED, AND TO SUBSTITUTE IN ITS PLACE A NEW SECTION SETTING OUT THE PARKING SPACES SITUATED ON DEFEE STREET AND GAILLARD STREET CONSTITUTING A PARKING -METER ZONE; REPEALING ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Baytown, Texas, is hereby amended by amending Chapter 18, Motor Vehicles and Traffic, by re- pealing Section 18 -153.1 thereof, and the same shall cease to have force and effect from and after the effective date of this ordinance. Section 2: That the Code of Ordinances, herein is hereby amended by adding thereto a new Section 18- 153.1, Designation of parking -meter zones, in Chapter 18, Motor Vehicles and Traffic, which shall read as follows, to -wit: Section 18- 153.1. Designation of parking -meter zones. Pursuant to Section 18 -153 of the Code of Ordinances, the following named and described areas, streets, or portions of streets and such other areas, streets, or portion of streets as may hereinafter be included in this section by amended hereto, lying within the corporate limits of the City of Baytown, Texas, shall constitute a parking -meter zone, to -wit: The three parking spaces on the north side of Defee Street, immediately east of the intersection of Defee Street and Gaillard Street; The seven parking spaces on the east side of Gaillard Street, immediately north of the intersection of Defee Street and Gaillard Street, Section 3: Repealing Clause: All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with the terms of this ordinance are hereby repealed; provided, however, that such repeal shall be only to the extent of such inconsistency and in all other respects this ordinance shall be cumulative of other or- dinances regulating and governing the subject matter covered by this ordinance. Section 4: Savings Clause: If any provision, exception, section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to any person or set of circumstances shall for any reason be held unconstitutional, void or invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this ordinance or their application to other persons or sets of circumstances and to this end, all provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 5: Effective Date: This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10) days from its adoption by the City Council. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice within ten days after its passage.
