Ordinance No. 1,118ORDINANCE NO. 1118 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE BID OF ASSOCIATED CONSTRUCTION SERVICES, INC., FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE ARTERIAL WATER MAIN PROJECT, JOB NO. 70 -500, AS PART OF THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM, AND AUTHORIZING THE CONTRACTING OF INDEBTEDNESS BY THE CITY FOR THE SUM NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY - FIVE THOUSAND NINETY -FOUR AND 50/100 ($185,094.50) DOLLARS WITH REGARD TO SUCH AGREEMENT. WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and passed in the regular Council meeting of July 20, 1971, A. J. Bush, consulting engineer for the City of Baytown, was instructed to advertise for bids for the construction of watermain extensions to be received on August 10, 1971; and WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place, when and where the contract for said construction would be let was published pursuant to provisions of Vernon's Civil Statutes Article 2368a; and WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 10:00 A. M., Tuesday, August 10th, 1971, as per the published notice to bidders. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby accepts the bid of Associated Construction Services, Inc., for the construction of the Arterial Water Main Project, Job No. 70 -500, according to the plans and specifications s,et forth by the City Engineer on a construction timetable of 120 days for the sum not to exceed One Hundred Eighty -Five Thousand Ninety - Four and 50/100 ($185,094.50) Dollars, and the Mayor and City Clerk of the City are hereby authorized and directed to execute and attest to a contract with Associated Construction Services, Inc., for the construction of said Arterial Water Main Project containing the plans, specifications and requirements of the City Engineer and appropriate bond and draw provisions in accordance with the provisions of Vernon's Civil Statutes Article 5160.
