Ordinance No. 1,113ORDINANCE NO. 1113 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN TEXAS, APPROVING AND ACCEPTING LEGAL SERVICES RENDERED BY VINSON, ELKINS, SEARLS & SMITH, RECEIVING AND AC- CEPTING THE STATEMENT FOR THEIR LEGAL FEES; AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF SAID LEGAL FEES AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the law firm of Vinson, Elkins, Searls & Smith has represented the City; and WHEREAS, these services were rendered in connection with the handling of a law suit styled B. B. Williams, Authorized Of- ficial & President of Texas Federation of Independent Businesses & Tax Payers Alliance vs City of Baytown, et al; and WHEREAS, these services in connection with this suit and faithfully performed and concluded; and WHEREAS, upon completion of these services the law firm of Vinson, Elkins, Searls & Smith has sent a statement for the services to the City of Baytown in the amount of FIVE THOUSAND and N01100 ($5,000.00) DOLLARS; and WHEREAS the City has received this statement and finds that it is reasonable and further finds that this fee should be paid; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council hereby accepts and approves the statement for legal services rendered by the law firm of Vinson, Elkins, Searls & Smith for services rendered in the law suit styled B. B. Williams, Authorized Official & Pre- sident of Texas Federation of Independent Businesses & Tax Payers Alliance vs City of Baytown, et al. Section 2: That the payment of legal fees in the amount of FIVE THOUSAND and N01100 ($5,000.00) DOLLARS is hereby authorized and directed. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas.
