AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
ACCEPTING THE BID OF CAN -TEX INDUSTRIES FOR THE PURCHASE OF A
250,000 GALLON PER DAY PREFABRICATED, FIELD ERECTED, SEWAGE
TREATMENT PLANT AND AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT BY THE CITY OF THE
SUM OF FIFTY -SIX THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED TWENTY -SEVEN AND NO /100
($56,727.00) DOLLARS WITH REGARD TO SUCH ACCEPTANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby
accepts the bid of Can -Tex Industries for the purchase of a 250,000 gallon
per day prefabricated, field erected, sewage treatment plant, and authorizes
the payment by the City of a sum not to exceed FIFTY -SIX THOUSAND SEVEN
HUNDRED TWENTY -SEVEN AND NO /100 ($56,727.00) DOLLARS to such company
with regard to the acceptance of such bid. The City Council has elected
to substitute centrifugal blowers instead of the blowers submitted with
the Can -Tex bid. The award of this bid is conditioned upon State Health
Department approval of the Can -Tex Industries treatment plant, and the
company's assurances that the treatment plant will be installed fifteen
(15) weeks from the date this bid is awarded.
Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect from and after
its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council on this 27th day of April, 1971.
