Ordinance No. 1,094ORDINANCE NO. 1094 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS. WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, where all interested persons were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the following described property, to -wit: BEING a 26.2 acre tract of land out of the Christian Smith Survey, A -69, Harris County, Texas, and being northeast of the City of Baytown, Harris County, Texas, and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the existing City of Baytown City limit line, said point being the southwest corner of Kings Bend Subdivision, Section One, as recorded in the Harris County Map Records in Volume 166, Page 23; THENCE, north 9 09'31" west along the westerly line of said Kings Bend Subdivision, Section One, a distance of 948.67 feet to a point in the centerline of Carey's Bayou; THENCE, along the centerline meanders of Carey's Bayou as follows: South 38 °30'46" west - 1 8.08 feet South 89 °32' 46" west - 29.95 feet North 50 °58'16" west - 69.15 To a point in the centerline of Carey's Bayou; THENCE, south 8 025'38" west a distance of 244.05 feet to a point; THENCE, in a northwesterly direction along a curve to the right, a distance of 261.09 feet to a point, said curve having a central angle of 28 °5'20" and radius of 532.58 feet; THENCE, north 59 °29'2" west, a distance of 25.00 feet to a point; THENCE, south 30 °30'58" west, a distance of 60.00 feet to a point; THENCE, north 59 °29'2" west, a distance of 173.50 feet to a point; THENCE, south 31 °19'54" west, a distance of 474.67 feet to a point; THENCE, south 46 050'30" west, a distance of 687.69 feet to a point; THENCE, south 50 °52' west, a distance of 280.59 feet to a point in the existing City of Baytown City limit line; THENCE, in an easterly and northerly direction, following the existing City of Baytown city limit line which is located 200 feet north of the north right -of -way line of Massey Tompkins Road, to the POINT OF BEGINNING. was held at 7:00 o'clock p.m. in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Baytown, Texas, on the 8th day of April, 1971, which date is not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days, prior to the institution of annexation proceedings; and WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a news- paper having general circulation in the City of Baytown, Texas, and in the above described territory on the 22nd day of March, 1971, which date is not more than twenty (20) nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of such public hearing; and WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Baytown, Texas, on the 1st day of January, 1971, was 16,242.956 acres; and WHEREAS, the population of the City of Baytown, Texas, is approximately 50,000 inhabitants; and WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the extra- territorial jurisdiction of the City of Baytown, Texas; and WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the City of Baytown, Texas; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the following described land and territory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Baytown, Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of Baytown, Texas, and the said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City of Baytown, Texas, and the present boundary limits of such City, at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter des- cribed, are altered and amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Baytown, Texas, to -wit: BEING a 26.2 acre tract of land out of the Christian Smith Survey, A -69, Harris County, Texas, and being northeast of the City of Baytown, Harris County, Texas, and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: -2- BEGINNING at a point in the existing City of Baytown City limit line, said point being the southwest corner of Kings Bend Subdivision, Section One, as recorded in the Harris County Map Records in Volume 166, Page 23; THENCE, south 31 °19'54" west, a distance of 474.67 feet to a point; THENCE, south 46 °50'30" west, a distance of 687.69 feet to a point; THENCE, south 50 °52' west, a distance of 280.59 feet to a point in the existing City of Baytown City limit line; THENCE, in an easterly and northerly direction, following the existing City of Baytown city limit line which is located 200 feet north of the north right -of -way line of Massey Tompkins Road, to the POINT OF BEGINNING. Section 2: The above described territory and the area so annexed shall be a part of the City of Baytown, Texas, and the property so added hereby shall bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied by the City of Baytown, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all the citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of the City of Baytown, Texas. Section 3: This ordinance shall be published and passed in the manner provided in Article 1, Section 9 of the Charter of the City of Baytown, Texas. -3- INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED this day of 1971. �.�4 C.
