Ordinance No. 1,044ORDINANCE NO. 1044 AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATE AND TAX LEVY FOR THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1971, UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY IN SAID CITY OF BAYTOWN$ TEXAS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS AND THE CHARTER PROVISIONS AND ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1: There shall be and is hereby levied and shall be assessed and collected for the year ending September 30, .y 1970, an ad valorem tax of ONE AND 39/100 ($1.39) DOLLARS for each ONE HUNDRED AND NO /100 ($100.00) DOLLARS of assessed value of property located within the present City limits of the City of Baytown, made taxable by law, which said taxes, when collected, shall be apportioned among funds and departments of City Govern- ment of the City of Baytown and for the purposes hereinafter set forth as follows: General Fund Operations $0.9883 Debt Service for payment of bonded indebtedness 0.4017 1.39.00 Section 2: The ad valorem tax rate of ONE AND 39/100 ($1.39) DOLLARS as set forth in Section 1, is hereby levied and shall be assessed and collected on only fifty (50 %) percent of each ONE HUNDRED AND NO 1100 ($100.00) DOLLARS worth of property located within Baytown as valued by the Equalization Board for the City of Baytown and made taxable by law. Section 3: The Tax Assessor and Collector of the City of Baytown is hereby directed to assess, extend and enter upon the Tax Rolls of the City of Baytown, Texas, for the current year the amounts and rates herein levied, and to keep a current ac- count of the same. All collection of such taxes, as well as collection of taxes owed from prior years, to include penalty and interest thereon, shall be deposited in the official depository of the City of Baytown to be distributed between the General Fund and the Interest and Sinking Fund on a basis determined by the percentage that each of the dollar figures in Section I above bear to the above stated tax rate. Section 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are expressly repealed. READ, ADOPTED and APPROVED by the affirmative vote of a majority of the City Council of the City of Baytown at its regular meeting held, at City Hall on the 24th day of September, 1970. /"7 ZL_ C.
