AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE ENSUING FIS-
CAL YEAR, BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1970, AND ENDING SEP-
TEMBER 30, 1971, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CHARTER AND
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN; AND PROVIDING FOR
THE PUBLICATION OF THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Baytown has
submitted to the City Council a budget estimate of the revenues
of said City and the expenses of conducting the affairs thereof
for the ensuing fiscal year, beginning October 1, 1970, and
ending September 30, 1971, and which said estimate has been
compiled from detailed information obtained from the several
departments, divisions, and offices of the City containing all
information as required by the Charter of the City of Baytown; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has received said City
Manager's estimate and held a public hearing thereon so provided
by Section 44 of the Charter; and
WHEREAS, after a full and final consideration of the
public hearing it is the opinion of the Council that the budget
as filed should be approved and adopted, NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the budget estimate of the revenues
of the City of Baytown and the expenses of conducting the affairs
thereof for the ensuing fiscal year, beginning October 1, 1970,
and ending September 30, 1971, as submitted to the City Council
by the City Manager of said City be, and the same is in all
things, adopted and approved as the budget estimate of all the
current expenses as well as the fixed charges against said City
for the fiscal year beginning the 1st day of October, 1970, and
ending September 30, 1971.

That the sum of THREE MILLION SIX HUNDRED
EIGHTY -SIX THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED FORTY -TWO AND NO /100 ($3,686,442.00)
DOLLARS is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund for the
payment of Operating Expenses and Capital Outlay of the City
Government as hereinafter itemized, to -wit:

Section 3: That the sum of ONE MILLION ONE HUNDRED

($1,163.753.00) DOLLARS is hereby appropriated out of the
Waterworks and Sanitary Sewer Fund for the operating expenses
and capital outlay of the municipality owned waterworks and
sanitary sewerage system as hereinafter itemized, to -wit:

Section 4: That the sum of SEVEN HUNDRED SEVENTY -NINE
THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FORTY -SIX AND NO /100 ($779,246.00) DOLLARS
is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund Debt Service for
the purpose of paying the accruing interest and redeeming the
Serial Bonds as they mature on the General Fund Debt Service
Bonds as hereinafter itemized, to -wit:

Section 5: That the sum of TWO HUNDRED FIFTY-FOUR
THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED FOURTEEN AND NO/100 ($254,414.00) DOLLARS
is hereby appropriated out of the Waterworks and Sanitary Sewer
Fund Debt Service for the purpose of paying the accruing interest
and redeeming the Serial Bonds as they mature in the Waterworks
and Sanitary Sewer Fund Debt Service Bonds as hereinafter itemized,
to-wit:

Fiscal Agent Fees 500.00
Interest and Principal on Proposed
Bond Sale 85,500.00

Section 6: The City Manager is hereby authorized
to transfer any unencumbered appropriation balance or portion
thereof between general classifications of expenditures within
an office, department or agency, in accordance with Section
6 8 of the City Charter.
Section 7: This ordinance shall be and remain in
full force and effect from and after its passage and approval
of the City Council and it shall be published once each week
for two (2) consecutive weeks in the official newspaper of the
City of Baytown.
READ, ADOPTED and APPROVED by a majority of the City
Council at a regular meeting held at the City Hall in the
City of Baytown, on the 24th day of Septei'nb,er, 1970.
