Ordinance No. 1,037em, 14WN ORDINANCE NO. 1037 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 936 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED 'AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, TO BE KNOWN AS THE "TRAFFIC CODE OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN"; REGULATING TRAFFIC ON THE PUBLIC STREETS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN; WORDS AND PHRASES DEFINED; AUTHORITY OF POLICE; DRIVING REGULATIONS -RULES OF THE ROAD; TURNING AND STARTING SIGNALS ON STOPPING AND TURNING; ACCIDENTS, RECKLESS DRIVING, STARTING PARKED VEHICLES; TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN SIGNALS; PEDESTRIANS' RIGHTS AND DUTIES; PARKING REGULATIONS, SPECIAL STOPS REQUIRED; MISCELLANEOUS DRIVING RULES; RE- PEALING ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PRE- SCRIBING A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF TWO HUNDRED ($200.00) DOLLARS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF', BEING ORDINANCE NO. 752, PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN ON THE 26TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1965, BY AMENDING SECTION 1 THEREOF, PERTAINING TO THE SPEED LIMIT ON BAKER ROAD, A PUBLIC STREET WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS; AND PRO- VIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1: That Section 1 of said Ordinance No. 936 pertaining to the amendment of Article III - Driving Regulations - Speed, Section 22, of said Ordi- nance No. 752, passed by the City Council of the City of Baytown on the 26th day of August, 1965, shall be amended by the addition of number 6, Baker Road, to sub - section (c), so as to read as follows, to -wit: Section 22: . . . (c) 45 Miles Per Hour Speed Zones 6. Baker Road from Garth Road to North Main Street Section 2: Except as herein amended, all of the terms and provisions of said Ordinance No. 936 are continued in full force and effect, as such ordinance amends Ordinance No. 752, and any person violating any of the terms of said Ordi- nance No. 752 shall be subject to the penalties provided therein. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect from and after ten (10) days from its passage by the City Council. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by causing the caption of this ordinance to be published in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice prior to the effective date thereof. w M INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by an affirmative vote of the City Council of the City of Baytown, on this the 13th day of August, 1970.
