Ordinance No. 1,007-Aes ORDINANCE NO. 1007 -A In AN ORDINANCE CONTAINING ORDINANCE NO. 1007, INTRO- DUCED ON THE 7TH DAY OF JANUARY, 1970, AND BEING, "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CER- TAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF t 12.5 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS." PROVIDING FOR THE FINAL PASSAGE OF SAID ORDINANCE PURSUANT TO ARTICLE I, SECTION 9, OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS. BAYTOWN: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF Section 1: That pursuant to Article I, Section 9, of the City Charter, said Ordinance No. 1007, introduced to the City Council of the City of Baytown, on the 7th day of January, 1970, in its original form shall read as follows: ORDINANCE NO. 1007 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF t 12.5 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRE- SENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS. WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, where all interested persons were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the following described property, to -wit: COMMENCING at the intersection of the centerline of San Jacinto Avenue in the Humble Oil and Re- fining Company property and the south right -of -way line of Park Street (Wooster Cedar Bayou Road); THENCE, in a westerly direction along the south right -of -way line of Park Street, (Wooster Cedar Bayou Road) a distance of 187.95' to a point in the City limit line of the City of Baytown, said point being the POINT OF BEGINNING; 19 THENCE, in a westerly direction along the south right -of -way line of Park Street (Wooster Cedar Bayou Road) to its intersection with the city limit line of the City of Baytown, said city limit line also being the easterly line of 40 foot wide drainage easement; THENCE, in a northerly direction along said Baytown city limit line across Park Street (Wooster Cedar Bayou Road) to its intersection with the north right -of -way line of Park Street (Wooster Cedar Bayou Road); THENCE, in an easterly direction along the north right -of -way line of Park Street (Wooster Cedar Bayou Road) to its intersection with the City limit line of the City of Baytown, said City limit line also being the centerline of San Jacinto Avenue in the Humble Oil and Refining Company property. CONTAINS ± 12.5 acres of land. was held at 6:30 o'clock p.m. in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Baytown, Texas, on the 18th day of December, 1969, which date is not more than twenty days nor less than ten days, prior to the institution of annexa- tion proceedings; and WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Baytown, Texas, and in the above described territory on the 8th day of December, 1969, which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the date of such public hear- ing; and WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Baytown, Texas, on the first day of January, 1969, was 17,280 acres; and WHEREAS, the population of the City of Baytown, Texas, is 48,000 inhabitants; and WHEREAS,the above described territory lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Baytown, Texas; and -2- W W WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the City of Baytown, Texas; and WHEREAS, the above described territory contains 12.5 acres of land; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the following described land and territory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Baytown, Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of Baytown, Texas, and the said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City of Baytown, Texas, and the present boundary limits of such City, at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter described, are altered and amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Baytown, Texas, to -wit: COMMENCING at the intersection of the centerline of San Jacinto Avenue in the Humble Oil and Re- fining Company property and the south right -of -way line of Park Street (Wooster Cedar Bayou Road); THENCE, in a westerly direction along the south right -of -way line of Park Street (Wooster Cedar Bayou Road) a distance of 187.95' to a point in the City limit line of the City of Baytown, said point being the POINT OF BEGINNING; THENCE, in a westerly direction along the south right -of -way line of Park Street (Wooster Cedar Bayou Road) to its intersection with the city limit line of the City of Baytown, said city limit line also being the easterly line of 40 foot wide drainage easement; THENCE, in a northerly direction along said Baytown city limit line across Park Street (Wooster Cedar Bayou Road) to its intersection with the north right -of -way line of Park Street (Wooster Cedar Bayou Road); THENCE, in an easterly direction along the north right -of -way line of Park Street (Wooster Cedar Bayou Road) to its intersection with the city limit line of the City of Baytown, said City limit line also being the centerline of San Jacinto Avenue in the Humble Oil and Refining Company property. CONTAINS ± 12.5 acres of land. -3- AMAMI,, Section 2: The above described territory and the area so annexed shall be a part of the City of Baytown, Texas, and the property so added hereby shall bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied by the City of Baytown, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all the citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of the City of Bay-town, Texas. Section 3: This ordinance shall be published and passed in the manner provided in Article 1, Section 9 of the Charter of the City o�f Baytown, Texas.
