AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATE AND TAX LEVY FOR THE
CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING
SEPTEMBER 30, 1970, UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY IN
SAID CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS AND THE CHARTER PROVI-
SIONS AND ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY; AND REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
THEREWITH.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
Section 1: There shall be and is hereby levied
and shall be assessed and collected for the year ending
September 30, 1970, an ad valorem tax of ONE AND 49/100
($1.49) DOLLARS for each ONE HUNDRED AND NO /100 ($100.00)
DOLLARS of assessed value of property located within the
present City limits of the City of Baytown, made taxable
by law, which said taxes, when collected, shall be appor-
tioned among funds and departments of City Government of the
City of Baytown and for the purposes hereinafter set forth
as follows:
General Fund Operations $1.1225
Debt Service for payment
of bonded indebtedness 0.3675
TOTAL $1.4900
Section 2: The ad valorem tax rate of ONE AND
49/100 ($1.49) DOLLARS as set forth in Section One (1), is
hereby levied and shall be assessed and collected on only
Fifty (50 %) percent of each ONE HUNDRED AND NO /100 ($100.00)
DOLLARS worth of property located within Baytown as valued
by the Equalization Board for the City of Baytown and made
taxable by law.
Section 3: The Tax Assessor and Collector of the
City of Baytown is hereby directed to assess, extend and
enter upon the Tax Rolls of the City of Baytown, Texas, for

the current year the amounts and rates herein levied, and to
keep a current account of the same. All collection of such
taxes, as well as collection of taxes owed from prior years,
to include penalty and interest thereon, shall be deposited
in the official depository of the City of Baytown to be dis-
tributed between the General Fund and the Interest and Sinking
Fund on a basis determined by the percentage that each of the
dollar figures in Section 1 above bear to the above stated
tax rate.
Section 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are expressly repealed.
