Ordinance No. 993W ORDINANCE NO. 993 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE ENSUING FIS- CAL YEAR, BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1969, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1970, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CHARTER AND ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN; AND PROVI- DING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF THIS ORDINANCE. WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Baytown has submitted to the City Council a budget estimate of the revenues of said City and the expenses of conducting the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year, beginning October 1, 1969, and ending September 30, 1970, and which said es- timate has been compiled from detailed information obtained from the several departments, divisions, and offices of the City containing all information as required by the Charter of the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, the City Council has received said City Manager's estimate and held a public hearing thereon so pro- vided by Section Forty -Four (44) of the Charter; and WHEREAS, after a full and final consideration of the public hearing it is the opinion of the Council that the budget as filed should be approved and adopted, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1: That the budget estimate of the revenues of the City of Baytown and the expenses of conducting the affairs thereof for the ensuing fiscal year, beginning October 1, 1969, and ending September 30, 1970, as submitted to the City Council by the City Manager of said City be, and the same is in all things, adopted and approved as the budget estimate of all the current expenses as well as the fixed W charges against said City for the fiscal year beginning the 1st day of October, 1969, and ending September 30, 1970. Section 2: That the sum of THREE MILLION THREE HUNDRED SEVENTY -TWO THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED NINETY -ONE AND NO /100 ($3,372,491.00) DOLLARS is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund for the payment of Operating Expenses and Capital Outlay of the City Government as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: General Government Public Safety Public Works Public Health Parks & Recreation Miscellaneous $ 735,509.00 1,332,191.00 1,017,097.00 50,615.00 172,598.00 64,481 .00 TOTAL 3,372,491.00 Section 3: That the sum of NINE HUNDRED EIGHTY- EIGHT THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY -EIGHT AND NO /100 ($988,188.00) DOLLARS is hereby appropriated out of the Water Works Fund for the operating expenses and capital outlay of the muni- cipality owned waterworks as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: Water Production $ 114,695.00 Transmission, Distribution & Collection 360,373.00 Customer Accounting & Collecting 113,320.00 General Overhead 27,320.00 Sanitary Sewers & Sewage Treatment 173,651.00 Transfers to Other Funds 198,829.00 TOTAL 88,188.00 Section 4: That the sum of FIVE HUNDRED SEVENTY- SIX THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED FOURTEEN AND NO /100 ($576,114.00) DOLLARS is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund Debt Service for the purpose of paying the accruing interest and redeeming the Serial Bonds as they mature on the General Fund Debt Service Bonds as hereinafter itemized, to -wit: Bond Payments $ 295,000.00 Interest Payments 279,614.00 Fiscal Agent Fees 1,500.00 TOTAL 576,11 .00 -2- Section 5: That the sum of ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY- gin, FIVE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED SIXTEEN AND NO/100 ($175,316.00) DOLLARS is hereby appropriated out of the Waterworks and Sanitary Sewer Fund Debt Service for the purpose of paying the accruing interest and redeeming the Serial Bonds as they mature in the Waterworks and Sanitary Sewer Fund Debt Service Bonds as hereinafter itemized, to-wit: Bond Payments $ 97,000.00 Interest Payments 77,916.00 Fiscal Agent Fees 400.00 TOTAL 175,316.00 Section 6: The City Manager is hereby authorized to transfer any unencumbered appropriation balance or por- tion thereof between general classifications of expenditures within an office, department or agency, in accordance with Section Sixty-eight (68) of the City Charter. Section 7: This ordinance shall be and remain in fu�ll force and effect from and after its passage and approva] of the City Council and it shall be published once each week for two (2) consecutive weeks in the official newspaper of City Council at a regular meeting held at the City Hall in the City of Baytown, on the 25th day of September, 1969.
