ORDINANCE NO. 935
AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATE AND TAX LEVY FOR THE CITY
OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER
30, 1969, UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY IN SAID CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE STATE
OF TEXAS AND THE CHARTER PROVISIONS AND ORDINANCES OF
SAID CITY; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF OR-
DINANCE IN CONFLICT THEREWITH.
BAYTOWN:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
Section 1: There shall be and is hereby levied and
shall be assessed and collected for the year ending September
30, 1969, an ad valorem tax of ONE AND 49/100 ($1.49) DOLLARS
on each ONE HUNDRED AND 00 /100 ($100.00) DOLLARS worth of
property located within the present City limits of the City
of Baytown, made taxable by law, which said taxes, when col-
lected, shall be apportioned among funds and departments of
City Government of the City of Baytown and for the purposes
hereinafter set forth as follows:
For the General Fund $1.15
For the purpose of paying
the accruing interest and
to provide a sinking fund
for the payment of the
bonded indebtedness of the
City of Baytown $ .34
Section 2: The ad valorem tax rate of ONE AND 49/100
($1.49) DOLLARS as set forth in Section 1, is hereby levied
and shall be assessed and collected on only Fifty (50 %) percent
of each ONE HUNDRED AND 00/100 ($100.00) DOLLARS worth of pro-
perty located within Baytown as valued by the Equalization Board
for the City of Baytown and made taxable by law.
Section 3: The Tax Assessor and Collector of the
City of Baytown is hereby directed to assess, extend and enter
upon the Tax Rolls of the City of Baytown, Texas, for the cur-
rent year the amounts and rates herein levied, and to keep a
current account of the same. All collection of such taxes,

as well as collection of taxes owed from prior years, to in-
clude penalty and interest thereon, shall be deposited in the
official depository of the City of Baytown to be distributed
between the General Fund and the Interest and Sinking Fund on
a basis determined by the percentage that each of the dollar
figures in Section 1 above bear to the above stated tax rate.
Section 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are expressly repealed.
READ, ADOPTED and APPROVED by the affirmative vote
of a majority of the City Council of the City of Baytown at
a special meeting held at City Hall on the 19th day of Sep-
tember, 1968.
