Ordinance No. 863ORDINANCE NO. 863 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, PRO- VIDING FOR THE FURNISHING OF FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT TO AN UNINCORPORATED AREA OF HARRIS COUNTY; STATING CERTAIN OF THE PRINCI- PAL TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT; APPROVING FORM AND SUBSTANCE OF AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZING ITS EXECUTION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: The City Council hereby approves the entering into of an agreement with Harris County, to the substantial effect that the City will provide fire protection equipment and services for an unincorporated area of Harris County, more particularly described in the formal agreement of which a copy is attached hereto, for a period of One (1) year, and in return therefor, Harris County will pay to City the sum of Six Hundred ($600.00) Dollars on or before the 10th day of May, 1968. Section 2: The City Council hereby approves the form and substance of a formal agreement between the City and Harris County, covering the foregoing and reasonably related matters, a copy of which is attached hereto for reference only. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute such agreement in as many counterparts as may appear requisite, and the City Clerk is authorized to attest the same under the City's seal, and upon execution by Harris County and appropriate certification by the County Auditor, such agreement shall be effective and binding to the intent and effect therein stated. Section 3: This Ordinance shall take effect from and after the date of its passage by a majority of the City Council of the City of Baytown.
