Ordinance No. 839-AORDINANCE NO. 839 -A AN ORDINANCE CONTAINING ORDINANCE NO. 839, INTRODUCED THE 9TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1966, AND BEING, "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXA- TION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 1.7 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS." PROVIDING FOR THE FINAL PASSAGE OF SAID ORDINANCE PURSUANT TO ARTICLE I, SECTION 9, OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That pursuant to Article I, Section 9, of the City Charter, said Ordinance No. 839, introduced to the City Council of the City of Baytown on the 9th day of November, 1966, in its original form shall read as follows: ORDINANCE NO. 839 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 1.7 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS. WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, where all interested persons were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the following described property, to -wit: BEGINNING at a point on the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown on the East right -of -way line of Farm Market Highway 2354, said point being more fully described as 33,214 feet Northeasterly from the intersection of the East right -of -way line of Cedar Point Road and the South right -of -way line of Farm Market Highway 2354; THENCE, continuing with the Easterly right -of -way line of Farm Market High- way 2354 in a Northeasterly direction for a distance of 1376 feet to a point for corner on the North right -of -way line of Rice Farm Road Projected Easterly; THENCE, in a Westerly direction along said North right -of -way line of Rice Farm Road Projected Easterly to a point for corner, ten feet perpendicular from the West right -of -way line of Farm Market Highway 2354; THENCE, in a Northerly direction, ten feet from and parallel to the Westerly right -of -way line of Farm Market highway 2354, for a distance of 6010 feet to a point for corner on the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown, Texas; THENCE, in a Westerly direction along the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown, a distance of ten feet to a point for corner on the Westerly right -of -way line of Farm Market Highway 2354, said point being a point on the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown; THENCE, in a Southerly direction along the Westerly right -of -way line of Farm Market Highway 2354, for a distance of 6020 feet to a point for corner; THENCE, in an Easterly direction, ten feet from and parallel to the North right -of -way line of Rice Farm Road Projected Easterly to a point ten feet perpendicular from the Easterly right -of -way line of Farm Market Highway 2354; THENCE, in a Southerly direction, ten feet from and parallel to the Easterly right -of -way line of Farm Market Highway 2354, a distance of 1366 feet to a point for corner on the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown; THENCE, in an Easterly direction along the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown, a distance of ten feet to a point on the Easterly right -of -way line of Farm Market Highway 2354, and the POINT OF BEGINNING. was held at 6:30 o'clock p.m. in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Baytown, Texas, on the 27th day of October, 1966, which date is not more than twenty days nor less than ten days prior to the institution of annexation proceedings; and WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Baytown, Texas, and in the above described territory on the 16th day of October, 1966, which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the date of such public hearing; and WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Baytown, Texas, on the first day of January, 1966, was 15,169.85 acres; and tants; and WHEREAS, the population of the City of Baytown, Texas, is 34,423 inhabi- WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Baytown, Texas; and WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the City of Baytown, Texas; and WHEREAS, the above described territory contains 2.4 acres; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: The following described land and territory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Baytown, Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of Baytown, Texas, and the said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City of Baytown, Texas, and the present boundary limits of such City, at the various points contiguous to the area herein- after described, are altered and amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Baytown, Texas, to -wit: BEGINNING at a point on the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown on the East right -of -way line of Farm Market Highway 2354, said point being more fully described as 33,214 feet Northeasterly from the intersection of the East right -of -way line of Cedar Point Road and the South right -of -way line of Farm Market Highway 2354; THENCE, in a Westerly direction along the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown, a distance of ten feet to a point for corner on the Westerly right -of -way line of Farm Market Highway 2354, said point being a point on the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown; THENCE, in a Southerly direction along the Westerly right -of -way line of Farm MarketHighway 2354, for a distance of 6020 feet to a point for corner; THENCE, in an Easterly direction, ten feet from and parallel to the North right -of -way line of Rice Farm Road Projected Easterly to a point ten feet perpendicular from the Easterly right -of -way line of Farm Market Highway 2354; THENCE, in a Southerly direction, ten feet from and parallel to the Easterly right -of -way line of Farm Market Highway 2354, a distance of 1366 feet to a point for corner on the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown; THENCE, in an Easterly direction along the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown, a distance of ten feet to a point on the Easterly right -of -way line of Farm Market Highway 2354, and the POINT OF BEGINNING, Section 2: The above described territory and the area so annexed shall be a part of the City of Baytown, Texas, and the property so added hereby shall bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied by the City of Baytown, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all the citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of the City of Baytown, Texas. Section 3: This ordinance shall be published and passed in the manner provided in Article 1, Section 9 of the Charter of the City of Baytown, Texas.
