AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATE AND TAX LEVY FOR THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 19674 UPON ALL TAXABLE
PROPERTY IN SAID CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS
OF THE STATE OF TEXAS AND THE CHARTER PROVISIONS AND ORDINANCES OF
SAID CITY; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CON-
FLICT THEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1: There shall be and is hereby levied and shall be assessed
and collected for the year ending September 30, 1967, an ad valorem tax of One
and 41/100 ($1.41) Dollars on each One Hundred and no /100 ($100.00) Dollars worth
of property located within the present City limits of the City of Baytown, made
taxable by law, which said taxes, when collected, shall be apportioned among
funds and departments of City Government of the City of Baytown and for the pur-
poses hereinafter set forth as follows:
For the General Fund
$1.04
For the purpose of paying the accruing
interest and to provide a sinking fund
for the payment of the bonded indebted-
ness of the City of Baytown $0.37
Section 2: The ad valorem tax rate of One and 41/100 ($1.41) Dollars,
as set forth in Section 1, is hereby levied and shall be assessed and collected
on only Fifty (50 %) percent of each One Hundred and no /100 ($100.00) dollars
worth of property located within Baytown, as valued by the Equalization Board for
the City of Baytown and made taxable by law.
Section 3: The City Tax Assessor and Collector of the City of Baytown
is hereby directed to assess, extend and enter upon the Tax Rolls of the City of
Baytown, Texas, for the current year, the amounts and rates herein levied, and to
keep a current account of same, and when so collected, the same to be deposited
in the deposity of the City of Baytown, to be distributed in accordance with this
ordinance.
Section 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are expressly repealed.
READ, ADOPTED and APPROVED by the affirmative vote of a majority of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, at a regular meeting held at City
Hall on September 22, 1966.
