AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON
THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF
SUCH PUBLIC HEARING AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1: On the 12th day of May, 1966, at 6 :30 o'clock p.m. in the
City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Baytown, Texas, the City
Council will hold a public hearing giving all interested parties the right to
appear and be heard on the proposed annexation by the City of Baytown, Texas, of
the following described property, to -wit:
BEGINNING at a point on the existing City limit line of the City of
Baytown, said point being more fully described as a point on theEasterly
right -of -way line of the Southern Pacific Railroad, a distance of
10,555.34 feet North of the Intersection of the South right -of -way line
of State Highway No. 73 (Interstate Highway No. 10) and the Southeast-
erly right -of --way line of the Southern Pacific Railroad;
THENCE, in a Northerly direction along the Easterly right -of -way line
of the Southern Pacific Railroad a distance of 3,590 feet to a point
which is 10 feet North of the Southeasterly right -of -way line of State
Farm Market Highway 1942. The 10 feet being measured perpendicular to
the Southeasterly right -of -way line;
THENCE, Southwesterly and Westerly, 10 feet from and parallel to the
South right -of -way line of State Farm Market Highway 1942, a distance of
6,970 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE, in a Southerly direction a distance of 10 feet to a point on the
South right -of -way line of State Farm Market Highway 1942 for corner;
THENCE, in an Easterly and Northeasterly direction along the South right -
of-way line of State Farm Market Highway 1942, a distance of 6,960 feet
to a point 10 feet West of the Easterly right -of -way line of the Southern
Pacific Railroad, the 10 feet being measured perpendicular to the Easterly
right -of -way line of the Southern Pacific Railroad;
THENCE, in a Southerly direction, 10 feet from and parallel to the East-
erly right -of -way line of the Southern Pacific Railroad, a distance of
3,580 feet to a point on the existing City limit line for corner;
THENCE, in an Easterly direction along the existing City limit line, a
distance of 10 feet to the Easterly right -of -way line of the Southern
Pacific Railroad, and the POINT OF BEGINNING.
Section 2: The City Clerk of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized
and directed to cause notice of such public hearing to be published once in a
newspaper having general circulation in the City and in the above described
territory not more than twenty days nor less than ten days prior to the date of
such public hearing, all in accordance with the Municipal Annexation Act (Chapter
160, Acts of the 58th Legislature, Regular Session, 1963; compiled as 970a,
Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, as amended.)
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its adoption.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the City Council of the City of Baytown
this 28th day of April, 1966.
