Section 1: That pursuant to Article I, Section 9, of the
City Charter, said Ordinance No. 768, introduced to the City Council
of the City of Baytown, on the 13th day of January, 1966, in its
original form shall read as follows:

THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF
123.45 ACRES OF LAND, 'MICH SAID TERRITORY LIES AD-
J!'LCENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIIAITS
OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS.
IHEREIIS, a public hearing before the City Council of the City
of Baytown, Texas, where all interested persons were provided with
an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the follow-
ing described territory:
BEGINNING at a point on the existing City of Baytown
boundary line, said point being two hundred (200') feet
North of the North right of way line of the i.lassey -Tomp-
kins Road and two hundred (200') feet East of the East
right of way line of North Main Street;
THENCE, in a Northerly direction two hundred (2001) feet
from and parallel to the Last right of way line of North
;.lain Street a distance of three thousand one hundred and
twenty -four (3,1241) feet to a point on the projected
North right of way line of Baiter Road;
THLMCE, in a Jesterly direction along the North right of
way line of Baker Road a distance of twelve hundred and
twenty -three (1,2231) feet to a point; said point being
the Southwest corner of Sunrise Court Subdivision and the
Southeast corner of the Goose Creek Independent School
District property;
THENCE, North 0 degrees 27

THENCE, North 0 degrees 04 minutes East a distance of
nine hundred and forty hundredths (900.401) feet to a
point on the South right of way line of the Cedar Bayou -
Lynchburg Road;
THENCE, South 88 degrees 24 minutes 'Jest along said
South right of way line of the Cedar Bayou - Lynchburg Road
a distance of one thousand fifty -two (1,052.01) feet to
point on the hest property line of the Goose Creek Inde-
pendent School District property; said point being the
Northwest corner of said school property;
THENCE, South 0 degrees 89 minutes 37 seconds East along
the blest property line of the Goose Creek Independent
School District property a distance of two thousand seven
hundred twenty -five and six- tenths (2,725.61) feet to a
point on the North right of way line of Baker Road;
THENCE, in a Vlesterly direction along the North right of
way line of Baker Road to a point of intersection with
the centerline of the East Branch of Goose Creek Stream;
said point of intersection being a point on the existing
City Limit Line of the City of Baytown;
was held at 5 :00 o'clock p.m. in the City Council Chamber of the
City Hall of the City of Baytown, Texas, on the 28th day of Decem-
ber, 1965, which date is not more than twenty days nor less than
ten days prior to the institution of annexation proceedings; and
IM EREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a
newspaper having general circulation in the City of Baytown, Texas,
and in the above described territory on the 15th day of December,
1965, which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days
prior to the date of such public hearing; and
161HEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Baytown,
Texas, on the first day of January, 1965, was 15,046.40 acres; and
IOM EREAS, the population of the City of Baytown, Texas, is
38,423 inhabitants; and
MEREAS, the above described territory lies within the ex-
traterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Baytown, Texas; and
�,HEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and
adjoins the City of Baytown, Texas; and
V11HEREAS, the above described territory contains 123.45 acres,
now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE, CITY CGUNCIL OF THL CITY OF BAYTO "111:
Section 1: The following described land and territory lying
adjacent to and adjoining the City of Baytown, Texas, is hereby
added and annexed to the City of Baytown, Texas, and the said terri-
tory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the
boundary limits of the City of Baytown, Texas, and the present
boundary limits of such City, at the various points contiguous to
the area hereinafter described, are altered and amended so as to
include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Bay-
town, Texas, to -wit:
BEGINNING at a point on the existing City of Baytown
boundary line, said point being two hundred (2001) feet
North of the North right of way line of the ].iassey -Tomp-
kins Road and two hundred (2001) feet East of the East
right of way line of North i:►ain Street;
THENCE., in a Northerly direction two hundred (2001) feet

tance of one thousand fifty -two (1,052.01) feet to a point
on the blest property line of the Goose Creek Independent
School District property; said point being the Northwest
corner of said school property;
THLNCr-', South 0 degrees 89 minutes 37 seconds last along
the 'lest property line of the Goose Creek Independent
ichool District property a distance of two thousand seven
hundred twenty -five and six - tenths (2,725.64) feet to a
point on the North right of way line of Baker Road;
THENCE, in a 7'Jesterly direction along the North right of
way line of Baker Road to a point of intersection with the
centerline of the past Branch of Goose Creek Stream; said
point of intersection being a point on the existing City
Limit Line of the City of Baytown, Texas.
Section 2: The above described territory and the area so an-
nexed shall be a part of the City of Baytown, Texas, and the proper-
ty so added hereby shall bear its pro rate part of the taxes so
levied by the City of Baytown, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof
shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all the
citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and
regulations of the City of Baytown, Texas.
Section 3: This ordinance shall be published and passed in
the manner provided in :'+rticle I, Section 9, of the Charter of the
City of Baytown, Texas.
