AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE
FOR A PUBLIC H- FARING ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXA-
TION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF BAY -
TOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC
HEARING AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1: On the 13th day of January, 1966, at 5:00 o'clock
p.m. in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of
Baytown, Texas, the City Council will hold a public hearing giving
all interested persons the right to appear and be heard on the pro-
posed annexation by the City of Baytown, Texas, of the following
described property, to -wit:
TRACT ONE
BEGINNING at a point of the existing City limit line of
the City of Baytown, said point being more fully described
as the intersection of the extension of the South right of
way line of State Highway No. 73 (Inter -State Highway No.10)
and the centerline of Cedar Bayou Stream;
THENCE, in an Easterly direction along the South right of
way line of State Highway No. 73 a distance of 10,560 feet
to a point for corner;
THENCE, in a Northerly direction, perpendicular to the South
right of way line of State Highway No. 73 a distance of 10
feet to a point for corner;
THENCE, in a Westerly direction 10 feet from and parallel
to the South right of way line of State Highway No. 73 for
a distance of 10,560 feet to a point on the existing City
limit line;
THENCE, in a Southerly direction along the existing City
limit line a distance of ten feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
TRACT TWO
BEGINNING at a point in the existing City limit line of
the City of Baytown where the mean high tide line of the
Westerly shoreline of Ash Lake intersects with the North-
easterly right of way line of Tri -City Beach Road;
THENCE, along said Northeasterly right of way line of Tri -
City Beach Road in a Southeasterly direction a distance of
10,560 feet to a point, said line crossing West Bay Ext.
Road;
THENCE, in a Southwesterly direction perpendicular to the
Northeasterly right of way line of the Tri -City Beach Road
a distance of 10 feet to a point;
THENCE, in a Northwesterly direction, parallel to and 10
feet from the Northeasterly right of way line of the Tri-
City Beach road a distance of 10,560 feet to a point on
the existing City of Baytown Limit line on the mean high
tide line of the Westerly shoreline of Ash Lake;
THENCE, in a Northeasterly direction following the mean
high tide line of the Westerly shoreline of Ash Lake to
the POINT OF BEGINNING,
Section 2: The City Clerk of the City of Baytown is hereby
authorized and directed to cause notice of such public hearing to
be published once in a newspaper having general circulation in the
City and in the above described territory not more than twenty days
nor less than ten days prior to the date of such public hearing, all
in accordance with the Municipal Annexation Act (Chapter 160, Acts
of the 58th Legislature, Regular Session, 1963; compiled as 970a,
Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, as amended.)
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its adoption.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the City Council of the City
of Baytown this 28th day of December, 1965.
