AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE
FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXA-
TION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF BAY -
TOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
iviAYOR TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEAR-
ING AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN-
Section 1: On the 28 day of December , 1965, at
5.00 p- No'clock in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall
of the City of Baytown, Texas, the City Council will hold a public
hearing giving all interested persons the right to appear and be
heard on the proposed annexation by the City of Baytown, Texas, of
the following described property, to -wit:
BEGINNING at a point on the existing City of Baytown
boundary line, said point being two hundred (2001) feet
North of the North right of way line of the iYiassey -Tomp-
kins Road and two hundred (2001) feet Last of the East
right of way line of North Tyiain Street;
THENCE, in a Northerly direction two hundred (2001) feet
from and parallel to the East right of way line of North
Main Street a distance of three thousand one hundred and
twenty -four (3,1241) feet to a point on the projected
North right of way line of Baker Road;
THENCE, in a Westerly direction along the North right of
way line of Baker Road a distance of nine hundred sixty -
three (9631) feet to a point; said point being the South-
west corner of Sunrise Court Subdivision and the South-
east corner of the Goose Creek Independent School District
property;
THENCE, North 0 degrees 27 minutes East a distance of
eight hundred ninety -three and twenty -three hundredths
(893.231) feet to a point;
THENCE, North 89 degrees 50 minutes East a distance of
nine hundred sixty -two (962.0) feet to a point on the West-
erly right of way line of North l.iain Street;
THENCE, along said Westerly right of way line of North
Main Street North 0 degrees 28 minutes East a distance of
sixty (60) feet to a point;
THENCE, South 89 degrees 50 minutes 14est a distance of
nine hundred forty -nine and ninety hundredths (949.90`)
feet to a point;
THENCE, North 0 degrees 04 minutes East a distance of eight
hundred ninety -six and sixty hundredths (896.601) feet to
a point;
THENCE, South 89 degrees 50 minutes West a distance of
four hundred ninety (490.01) feet to a point;
THENCE, North 0 degrees 04 minutes East a distance of
nine hundred and forty hundredths (900.401) feet to a
point on the South right of way line of the Cedar Bayou -
Lynchburg Road;
THENCE, South 88 degrees 24 minutes West along said South
right of way line of the Cedar Bayou - Lynchburg Road a dis-
tance of one thousand fifty -two (1,052.01) feet to a point
on the West property line of the Goose Creek Independent
School District property; said point being the Northwest
corner of said school property;
THENCE, South 0 degrees 89 minutes 37 seconds East along
the West property line of the Goose Creek Independent
School District property a distance of two thousand seven
hundred twenty -five and six tenths (2,725.61) feet to a
point on the North right of way line of Baker Road;
THENCE, in a Westerly direction along the North right of
way line of Baker Road to a point of intersection with the
centerline of the East Branch of Goose Creek Stream; said
point of intersection being a point on the existing City
Limit Line of the City of Baytown.
Section 2: The Mayor of the City of Baytown is hereby auth-
orized and directed to cause notice of such public hearing to be
published once in a newspaper having general circulation in the City
and in the above described territory not more than twenty days nor
less than ten days prior to the date of such public hearing, all in
accordance with the Municipal Annexation Act (Chapter 160, Acts of
the 58th Legislature, Regular Session, 1963; compiled as 970a, Ver-
non's Texas Civil Statutes, as amended).
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its adoption.
