AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING
THE RESULTS OF THE BOND ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY
OF BAYTOWN ON THE 6TH DAY OF MARCH, 1965, CONTAIN-
ING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; AND
DECLARING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT
FROM AND AFTER ITS ADOPTION
WHEREAS, there was held in the City of Baytown, Texas,
on the 6th day of March, 1965, an election at which was sub-
mitted to the duly qualified resident electors of said City
who owned taxable property within said City and who had
duly rendered the same for taxation, for their action there-
upon, the Following propositions, to -wit: (1) the issuance
of $1,661,000 street improvement bonds, (2) the issuance of
$130,000 drainage improvement bonds, (3) the issuance of
$300,000 city hall building bonds, (4) the issuance of
$55,000 fire station building bonds, (5) the issuance of
$740,000 community center building bonds, (6) the issuance
of $241,000 park and playground bonds, (7) the issuance of
$250,000 airport; improvement bonds, (8) the issuance of
$1,178,000 waterworks system bonds, and (9) the issuance of
$1,175,000 sanitary sewer system revenue bonds; and
WHEREAS, there were cast at said election 6,504
votes, of which number there were cast:

to the City Council of said City and filed with the City Clerk;
and
WHEREAS, it appears, and the City Council so finds and
declares, that said election was called, held, and conducted
in all respects under and in strict conformity with law;
Therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1: That the bond election described in the pre-
amble to this ordinance was duly called and notice thereof
given in accordance with law; that said election was held in

the manner required by law; that only duly qualified resident
electors of the City of Baytown, Texas, who owned taxable
property within said City and who had duly rendered the same
for taxation voted at said election; that due returns of
said election have been made by the proper officers; that
said election has resulted favorably to the issuance of the
bonds described in Propositions One, Two, Three, Four, Five,
Eight, and Nine, and that a majority of qualified voters voting
at said election have voted in favor of the issuance of the
bonds described in Propositions One, Two, Three, Four, Five,
Eight, and Nine and the levy of taxes in payment thereof; said
election, however, has resulted unfavorably to the issuance of
bonds described in Propositions Six and Seven.
Section 2: That the City Council of said City is now
authorized to issue the bonds described in Propositions One,
Two, Three, Four, Five, Eight, and Nine; to levy taxes in
payment thereof; and to do any and all acts and things neces-
sary and /or convenient in connection therewith.
Section 3: That this ordinance shall take effect and be
in full force from and after its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED this, the 17th day of March, 1965.
