AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATE AND TAX LEVY FOR
THE CITY OF BAYTOuIJN, TEXtiS, FOR THE FISCAL Y --AR
ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1965, UPON ALL TAXABLE. PRO-
PERTY IN SAID CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, IN ACCORD-
ANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS AND TIIE
CHARTER PROVISIONS AND ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY;
AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDIN-
ANCES IN CONFLICT THEREIIATH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS-.
Section to That there shall be and is hereby levied and shall be
assessed and collected for the year ending September 30, 1964, an ad
valorem tax of one and 86/100($1.86) Dollars on each One Hundred
(1100.00) Dollars worth of property located within the present city
limits of the City of Baytown, made taxable by law, which said taxes,
when collected, shall be apportioned among funds and departments of
City Government of the City of Baytown and for the purposes hereinafter
set forth as follows, to -wit:
For the General Fund $1.515
For the purpose of paying the
accruing interest and to provide
a sinking fund for the payment of
the bonded indebtedness of the
City of Baytown. 0.345

Section 20 The ad valorem tax rate of one and 86/100 ($1.86)
Dollars as set forth in Section 1, is hereby levied and shall be
assessed and collected on only Fifty (50 %) percent of each One Hundred
($100.00) Dollars worth of property located within Baytown, as valued
by the Equalization Board for the City of Baytown and made taxable by
law.
Section 3: The City Tax Assessor and Collector of the City of
Baytown is hereby directed to assess, extend and enter upon the Tax
Rolls of the City of Baytown, Texas, for the current year, the amounts
and rates herein levied, and to keen a correct account of same, and
when so collected, the same to be deposited in the depository of the
City of Baytown, to be distributed in accordance with this ordinance.
Section 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are expressly repealed.
READ, ADOPTED and APPROVED by the affirmative vote of a majority
of the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, at a regular meeting
held at City Hall on September 10, 1964.
