AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE, "AN ORDINANCE OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, TO BE KNOWN
AS THE 'TRAFFIC CODE OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN'; REGULATING
TRAFFIC ON PUBLIC STREETS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN; WORDS
AND PHRASES DEFINED; AUTHORITY OF POLICE; DRIVING REGULA-
TIONS, RULES OF THE ROAD; TURNING AND STARTING AND SIGNALS
ON STOPPING AND TURNING; ACCIDENTS; RECKLESS DRIVING;
STARTING PARKED VEHICLES; TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN SIGNALS;
PEDESTRIANS RIGHTS AND DUTIES; PARKING REGULATIONS; SPECIAL
STOPS REQUIRED; MISCELLANEOUS DRIVING RULES; REPEALING
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; CONTAINING A SAVINGS
CLAUSE; PRESCRIBING A MAXIMUM PENALTY OF T1W HUNDRED ($200)
DOLLARS, AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE
DATE THEREOF," BEING ORDINANCE NO.. 607, PASSED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN ON THE 11TH DAY OF AUGUST,
1960, BY AMENDING ARTICLE III, SECTION 22, ITEM (b) THEREOF,
AND ADDING ITEM (e) THERETO, AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICA-
TION AND EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1: That Article III, Section 22, Item (b) of said Ordinance No.
607 shall be amended to read as follows:
(b) 40 Miles Per Hour Speed Zones:
(1) South :ilexander Drive - from the intersection of South Main Street
to the intersection of Highway No. 146.
(2) [Pest Main Street from Spur 201 to Yupon Street.
(3) Market Street (300 feet West of Traffic Circle) to Stadium Drive.
(4) On Market Street from Goose Creek Bridge to a point .3 of a mile
from intersection of Market and West Main.
(5) Airhart Drive - from Woodruff Street to Lynchburg Road.
(6) Decker Drive - from Fleetwood Drive - West to Airhart Drive.
(7) East James Street - from Bayou Drive - West to lOth Street.
(8) Park Street - from Garth Road - West to the intersection of Becker
Drive.
(9) Highway No. 146 - from Davis Road to Cedar Bayou Road.
(10) Decker Drive - from Airhart Drive - West to the City limits.
(11) Tri -City Beach Road from Cedar Bayou Lake Drive - Southward .7 mile
to a road curve at a point .3 mile North of draw bridge.
(e) 55 Miles Per Hour Speed Zones;
(1) Tri-City Beach Road - from Evergreen Pelly Road to Cedar Bayou Lake
Drive, a distance of 1.6 miles.
Section 2: That all the terms and provisions of the said Ordinance No. 607,
passed by the City Council of the City of Baytown on the 11th day of August, 1960,
are hereby continued in full force and effect and any person violating any of the
terms of the ordinance shall be subject to the penalties provided therein.
Section 3: Effective Date: This ordinance shall take effect from and after
ten (10) days from its passage by the City Council. The City Clerk is hereby directed
to give notice thereof by causing the caption of this ordinance to be published
in the official newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice prior to the
effective date thereof.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by a majority of the members of the City Council
of the City of Baytown, on this the 10th day of October, 1963.
